Trust me man, I would love to but after pwning n00bs for years on end my pc finally got toasted lol I built my pc around cs:s. AMD 64 FX60, Lan Party mobo, Nvidea 8800, 4g of ddr with chrome covers lol and a few fans with sweet blue lights! I was rocking a stead 280-320 fps on any map. If anything I got my moneys worth out of it. When I rebuild my pc I'm going to need to do a ton of research. I don't know what's good these days. Any suggestions on mobo, processor and vid card? Preferably AMD for the processor.
Well, I can't tell you for sure because it's preference. You can build a budget gaming system and OC it till no end but it won't withstand years of high end gaming. I like to build systems that last 5 to 10 years and keep up with new stuff.
My setup:
Quad boot:
XP, Windows 7, OSX Snow Leopard and Ubuntu (I'm a full time MCSE at home where I run my business)
Intel i5 750 OC to 4.18Ghz 24/7 stable paired with a Thermaltake Frio cooler
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD6 Mobo
(1gbx4) Crucial Ballistix Tracers in blue BL12864tb1608.8ff and 2 more spares in case I blow these up but I doubt it.
EVGA GTX 260 Core 216
Kingwin 850 Modular PSU
Azza 1000 full ATX box
All in 1 multimedia card reader
4TB HDD Space in AHCI config:
1TB WD Caviar Black HDD on Sata 3 speeds for games and editing tools (audio/video)... (should be my primary drive though)
1TB Seagate Barracuda HDD (primary)
2TB WD Caviar Green (storage)
LG DVD and Blue Ray burners
Saitek Eclipse Keyboard
Gigabyte GM-M6800 mouse (overrated
)
and a Samsung Syncmaster 245BW
I also have an old school Sony 5.1 Dolby Digital system with powered speakers and a pair of Sony MDR-XB300 Headphones for Music editing & quiet listening...
The sky is the limit and I can help you look for everything you need + I can help you with the overclocking if you like.
