To the older crowds around RIU - can you remember some of the old toys you had?

I was under 10 from 1957-67, I had the original Schwinn Orange Crush bike with the wide slick on the back, high handlebars and sissy bar on the back. They brought it back retro in the late 90's and try to sell them for like $350. I think my Mom paid $40 bucks for it.... Hasbro's original G.I. Joe, my bothers and I had like 10 of them total. If I only kept one in the original box.....toys, for the most part were weak in the 60's.. In 1971, I found the best toy of all, weed . My first head toy was the original Glass "Toker". I paid 14 bucks for it, and than I bought it's little sister....The "Steam Roller" ah, I wish I still had those.....

It's a little down the line but I still like playing pokemon red on my DS Lite ^^

NES games on the Wii are also fun.

I like toy cars, hornby and primative scalextric.

I also still play with this from time to time

They don't sound like little girl toys but I was always an odd one. I'm still obsessed with Meccano and Lego.

i still have my turbo grafix hooked up. nothing like blazing and playing retro games...for all you nes and snes people theres a system called retroduo that plays both games in one system, av hooked up so u dont need to splic the cable line.

How old are you dbkick if I may ask? That looks pretty modern. I mean, my old favorite is from 1981 but the thread is about old toys because they're quirky and interesting, so I worried mine was too 'modern' because I'm younger.

That's cool though, my parents would never let me have something like that :3

i have a charm necklace and garbage pail kids. i remember light bright and that other weird thing with some kind of sand inside and the 2 knobs that you would turn to draw or write, then u shake to erase. what was that called?

1. Bags of army men with tanks, jeeps and howitzers
2. G.I. Joe doll (they weren't called action figures back then)
3. Tonka trucks that you could sit in. (I had plenty of wrecks riding down hills in mine)
4. Mickey Mouse A.M. radio (I used to tune into Salt Lake City and listen to Music And The Spoken Word)
5. Chemistry sets
6. 30-30 and 22 rifle
7. Compound bow for deer hunting (I only went once. hated it.)
8. Tons of matchbox cars and tracks
9. hotwheels diecast zowies

I want that Pokemon GB Color, I just have a purple one, a red Advance SP, my brother now has my secondhand DS and now I have a DS Lite inherited from my mama and I put FFV7 decals on it :3

EDIT: Just found it on amazon for 199.99 brand new from 86...

i had a pee wee herman doll like this except you pulled the string in the back and it was say things like ha huh im pee wee herman!! dont have it anymore it burnt down with the house. i used to also have a ghost busters kit that had the ghost trap and the gun and back pack deal and at with the lights off you can open the trap and it will reflect slimer on the ceiling and you can shoot him back in the trap. it was awesome when i was about 5 when i got it

And the pokemon yellow game that came with it is going for over $100 new.
