well, one 600 is good for a 4 x 4 area, so with that size, i'd say 2 of them would do you just fine.. and as for plants, not too sure on that one, maybe 8 or so per lamp?? i'm just guessing on the amount of plants though tbh, an educated guess mind you, but a guess none the less.. i would say it also depends on how big there are obviously, as well as your growing style.. scrog, sog, hydro etc would all have an effect on how many plants you'd be able to fit under them..

Right on, two 1000 w hps would be best, but you could still get at least 180,000 lumens from two 600 w rigs. Just remember, its gonna get HOT in there.

it already has 2 x 600w hps in there, with 8 test plants coming along great, just wanted a rough idea how many lights i would need to almost fill the room with plants, my temps are between 28c and 30c (83f - 86f) depending on the weather outside just now, and its mid summer, i have a computer controlled system to run my 8" fans. just now they are on about a quarter strength.
also my plants are short stocky little ladies with a good amount of buds on them. i will post pics later. in fact heres a few at 6 weeks just before flowering and its been two weeks of flowering since these pics and they have doubled in size.
funny though my 3 barneys farm lsd are going stretch crazy so i wont be getting them again, although the rest are very stocky with a hell of a lot more buds on them.
the lsd were not even flowering so i bent them right over and tied them down for 2 days with the lights down close and they flowered fast, maybe i will just put them back like that and keep them like that what do you think?

plants 6 weeks old before flowering, now they are 8 weeks and double in size, and in 10 litre bags.

anyway does everybody agree 32 plants and 4 x 600w hps lamps.

Well it all depends on the size of the plant, if you are flowering 12 to 18 inch clone in a sea of green style grow you could do thirty two plants under only two of the 600w lamps, but don't worry, your are on track for success. Those plants in your room now are very healthy. +rep

I have 6 600's in a 7 x 12 room. A 600 watt only covers 3.5 x 3.5 depending on your hood the good strong light has a smaller footprint. I have 18 plants that I veg for about 6 weeks in hydro. It is REALLY crowded. You can't walk between the plants and you have to snake your way along the wall to get to the back of the room. I have to get on my hands and knees to trim the understory. Its an uncomfortable PIA but come harvest time, it is all well worth it :)

10 feet by 6 feet room how many 600w hps?

and max amount of plants?

thanks.
6 x 600w.
9 plants under each = 54 plants.
Veg for a few weeks then flip to 12/12.
Between 1 and 2 ounces per plant (Indica), depending on the strain and how good you are.
Result: Between 54 and 108 ounces.
