actually most beef that you buy in the grocery is 12-14 months old. by feeding cows corn, they can get them to be large enough to slaughter by 12 months. Grazing cows take a lot longer.

i am sure you could guess this but i don't eat lamb or veal.

i love sheep/lambs and i wouldnt kill one.

get out there and slaughter a baby sheep and i say, go ahead and eat it!

Here's one for the anti-veal folk. Do you drink milk from bulk producers? In which case you're part of the reason veal exists :D

I've eaten the brains, lungs, heart, kidneys, liver, you name it, so yeah, i'll eat some baby cow :)

Sucks to be you! Milk is the drink of kings! Nay, the drink of Gods! When i'm not working i'll often get through 4 or 5 pints a day :)

i eat yogurt sometimes but i prefer sheep milk if I can find it. sheep milk is actually better for you than cow milk.

why is milk the reason veal exists? do you think the dairy cow babies are used for veal? i never thought of that but I wouldn't imagine it's true because dairy cows produce large quantity of milk, why would they kill a dairy cow for meat? you would think they would just kill a meat cow's baby for veal? the dairy cow is useful for completely different things. they would raise the baby and use it for dairy.

I drink milk for the calcium, the fact it fills you up, and the taste, to ehll with healthy, i buy full fat, the kind where you can turn the bottle upside down and the fat ring keeps the milk inside :D

A good portion of veal comes from exactly there, the male calves from dairy breeds. No use for making milk, not really any good as beef, so veal it is, chop chop.

All i know is i don't really think i have a right to feel bad about baby cows when i am paying for libyan civilians to be bombed to death in the middle of the night. Bigger priorities to protest against and such.

yeah you shouldn't feel bad. everyone eats it...

that makes sense. i forgot about the male babies!! i guess that would be the only use for a male baby dairy cow.

I don't eat lamb, not because I won't but because I never buy it. I like veal and I'll eat it every now and again.

I sure do love me some venison though. It's cool how all the animals have a different meaty taste lol.
