those are just rings to contain my water. they only go an inch deep.do thsoe white canisters you have them in have drainage holes?
i am topping and trimming as needed to keep them at a manageable size. they are all about the same size. they were all started at the same time.I assume you lollipop?
Also why are the ones closer to the camera smaller than the further ones?

i didn't start them until april they have only been outside since the beginning of this month. they are catching up fast.looks like your about a gallon deep already. when did you start this year? been a funky year for weather.
i leave the tomato cages on. helps support the side branches.How do you get the tomato cages off once they outgrow them? Or do they stay?

i just tilled it this year. composted in last years stalks and fan leaves, but that wasn't really much at all.very clean set up, very nice.
it looks like they just go into your existing soil, can i ask if you amend or add other soil mix?
