Low Tolerance?

I've as of yesterday smoked about 10 different strains of marijuana in the last 2 months. I've noticed that I really don't have that high of a tolerance. My friends will be sober 2 hours after a good high, and I won't find myself feeling "sober" for up to days. Sleep really helps me sober up faster though, but I never actually sober up unless I smoke mids. Today I feel really strange though. I smoked about 7 hits of white widow from a bong yesterday and got so ripped I was literally laying on the floor like a turtle talking to my friends cat about cheetos and graham crackers... Right now I feel fine but somewhat unfocused and tired... Do I have some natural low tolerance? People have said that these after effects go away as you smoke, but they haven't seemed to that much... My perspective of everything is also much different...

Interesting... would you mind describing to me what exactly you mean? I know that's a quote from something but...

..... maybe smoking shouldn't be your thing.

I mean... white widow is pretty strong stuff. I regret taking that many hits but it was only necessary to have a great viewing of Boogie Nights.

I take single bong hits. They might be 1/3 - 1/2 gram though but I only take one and am good for 3-4 hours. If I go 2 days without smoking for some reason I get stupid high off of one hit. Try smoking less at a time and more often. That would be moderation and moderation of moderation.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I'll just take as many hits as I feel are necessary, not what my friends decide.

EDIT: TrichomeTrent, I am a very strange person while sober, so while high I'm literally indescribable and the things flowing through my mind are unimaginable... But I happen to like it.

Thats the spirit. You'll get used to it with time. Its alot easier on you than mass dosing yours :)

I don't even like smoking with other people. Not even my wife really. Not that I am against doing so, I just don't consider it a community activity. I load a hit for me and if and when she wants a snap, she gets her own.

What other medicine do people sit around and take together as a group activity? I take responsibility for my own head and know that others can take care of themselves.

Weed affects people differently. Some people more than others. I've been smoking for ~15 years, it still only takes a few tokes to get a nice buzz. But I suspect that that's true for most people, but most people feel the need to smoke A LOT of pot all at once.
You likely aren't stoned for days. You are just burnt out. Drink some water, maybe get some exercise. Don't smoke as much next time, learn to take'r easy, it's not a contest. Or, do what your friends suggest and build up your tolerance by smoking as much weed as they do.

Now of course, this won't make you as cool as the guys who smokes giant gaggers and brag about how much it takes them to high, but you will have more money and be able to savour that fine White Widow. Besides, being cool isn't important for a mature, responsible, adult, such as yourself.

CAVEAT: If you find that you are hallucinating, and/or have a family history of mental illness, you need to speak to your doctor.

It's interesting when I am smoking with a new group of people and they happen to make fun of a newbie smoker for having a low tolerance. It's pretty stupid because I'd think that it'd be GREAT to be able to get super high off of a small amount of weed, which I can't anymore. Two months isn't very long. You might build up a tolerance eventually but in the meantime just think of it as saving money :)

I have a history of severe depression and anxiety. Last summer, I noticed that gradually things were getting much better out of nowhere. By July of 2010 I literally felt like I found myself again and was never able to figure out *how* I was like the way I was. Overcoming depression and anxiety was the greatest moment of my life. Weed doesn't affect my anxiety levels. If there is any anxiety, it gets rid of it. Unless I smoke too much (last night I got kind of paranoid because I was a little TOO high... but I got through it).

I don't actually hallucinate, I see things in my head though. No one in my family has had any mental illnesses, we are all healthy.

Well that's good. If you feel you are okay with toking, you're good to go. Just remember that hearing voices and seeing things while high could be a sign of something more serious, might be nothing, but I'm no doctor. Either way, just don't lose that sense of self that you found.

I see things in my mind if I get too high, I also hear sounds but not clear voices or conversations when I`m exceptionally high. I know I`m far from a mental illness but if you get really high weed does induce hallucinations. It IS psychoactive after all. I also do a fair amount of other hallucinogens too. I don`t think your mentally ill or anything but don`t get high to the level it may disturb you. Its fine to get very high too but I don`t do it too often.

I`m one with a low tolerance too. If your mind feels out of control you can master it with meditation and your sorted for life :)
