Drinking ruins weed for me. It gives me too much of a "spinning" feeling. Like I'm going to throw-up or pass out. I'm sure a couple of beers wouldn't do that, but I've never just drank a couple of beers haha.

But you drink solvents to hydrate yourself, daily. Water is the universal solvent.
Very true, Sensai. Yet, what high school Chemistry didn't teach you is, water is extremely horrible at dissolving organic substances. Which is why you would use Ethanol instead. And we are organic, and thus organic solvents in our stomach is VERY bad.

GBL is a solvent too.
Alcohol can have psychedellic effects, you just need to reduce it's activity at the GABA receptors with an antagonist such as thujone (I wonder what the benzo antagonist whose name I can't recall would do). Alcohol is a dirty drug and effects many receptors, it's just those effects are generally overridden by the GABA effects.

Very, very true. It is a NMDA antagonist. Same as ketamine or PCP. You just only notice it at high doses.

True about GBL, but it has been found that GBL is a neurotransmitter, and you need such a small dose to mediate effect (compared to alcohol) that it is 50x safer for your stomach than alcohol.

I drank and smoked once, then after an hour things started spinning, then I spent the next two hours puking while my friends watched the Hangover

i have a take on this - at one point i took 4 years away from all substances then when i started smoking again i had a night of hard drinking and toking on the town - i walked out onto the street to have a conversation and everything was so different.. it had almost the sudden impact of being on LSD.. i had to think to myself how great i felt.. it lasted for a few hours.. but, then as my tolerance to substances took hold i no longer get an incredible rush from simply mixing the two substances..

at no point was i having LSD like hallucinations though..

Apparently mixing alcohol (ethyl-alcohol) with marijuana (THC) can cause a similar effect to having a low dose of some really good acid, is this true?
If you have any experience with either, please, share you're thoughts on the matter. bongsmilie
I would say no. I have mixed the two and I have also done some really potent LSD and some not so great but OK LSD. I wouldn't compare them at all. Very different. But I suppose I could see why someone would feel a little 'trippy' from pot and alcohol but it's nothing comparable to LSD.

When I lived with my three roommates in our apartment this past year, we'd smoke and drink alot.. sometimes 3 or 4 nights a week. :p

I've had mixed experiences with it. If you're really drunk, I wouldn't recommend smoking, especially if it's really dank shit. Maybe just a hit or two. Alot of times it can put you over the edge, and give you "the spins", which isn't fun at all... and usually ends with vomiting. :spew: Or sometimes you might just pass the fuck out on the spot as if somebody chloroform ragged your ass.

It's a fine line to walk. You really have to be aware of exactly how drunk you are and how much your smoking if you mix the two. Obviously, drinking impairs judgement quite a bit, sometimes you can't always tell "how much you've had". If your really drunk, wait until you feel yourself sobering up a little bit to smoke. It's better than passing out or puking.. both of which can be embarrassing. Better safe than sorry haha.
