Well today is Day 43, I cannot figure out what is wrong with this plant. I have flushed her 4 gallons of water Wednesday and 4 gallons of water on sat. I also gave her 1/2 nutes on Saturday after major flush! I need some help here! Yellow leaf tips, Very Slow leaf growth and rusty spots on some of the big fan leaves! Any ideas? ++REP

You will have to let it ride until it dries a bit. Brown spots can come from spraying before lights out. causes a fungus build up over nite. watch out for blight. It looks male to me.

Can you check pH, i would bet it is that, having similar problems with the brown spots, at first i thought it was calcium but is fast turning out to be pH, well when i say pH i am refering to the high amounts of salts in my soil i think. Can you eliminate pH or do you pH water and ferts?? Just an idea but looks similar to the problems i started with and low and behold adding ferts just seemed to make it worse. If it was pH i would suppose the flush would help a little but proper pH'd water would be good. I have little details of what equipment you have and what you test. Thanks dude.

Ok here it is. My PH run off is like 5.1. I flush the plant and it gets up too 5.4PH runoff. Thats with REG water NO PH BALANCE, nothing, FLUSH IN SHOWER. So I water my plant with 6.8 PH and when I wake up the next day the plant looks so horrible, I check the soil and PH Drops down too about 5.9PH. So I had this problem since the beginning of the grow, so I went ahead and Up my PH to conteract the low PH. I went ahead and brought the PH up too 7.1 and the plant did really well with growth, nice leaves, moving. The other day I added very low nutes and All the problems started. Can I eliminate PH? very good question. I PH MY WATER AND PH WHEN I ADDING NUTES. When I add NUTES, ph drops to like 4.6 in a 1 gallon container mixed with water. My reg water PH is always about 6.8 too 7.0, tap water or bottle. I always bring them up to the same PH every time I water! I have only a HM DIGITAL PH METER. Thats all, don't have a TD METER or anything. I'm just going by the PH reading my Digital meter gives me!

So basically those brown spots you are seeing seem to be a pH issue. I can't tell you any more as the same thing has happened to me. Best advice i have had is of max, he says just keep feeding with pH6.8, the pH isn't the soil its the nutes and stuff that you put into it keeping the pH down, apparently after a long flush the pH will rise as most of the acidic soluable substances are flushed out. Anyway i am at the same point as you but i have a ec meter (tds meters are different and well exspensive). I need to switch over to chemical nutes if i want to read my ferts as it only reads my grow and not bloom. Back to the point i think it is a pH issue and a lot of others will say that after hearing your runoffs. Please add me as a friend and when you sort the problem tell me how you did it? I also use lime in my soil and add mag to my water till it is 150-200ppm or 1-2 ec.

I thought calcium at first but but as working to fix the pH, might water some more lime in to buffer it and flush again. PH sucks big time and i know it! I am subscribed to this thread so keep it going till you sort the pH as it would be a big help to see your progress. Thanks dude and good luck.

Sorry actually the best advice and practice i have seen or heard is don't chase the pH. Apparently it is bad to like adjust the pH of the waterings and nutes to pH8 and pour on pH6 runoff soil to hopefully get to pH7 if you get what i mean, a lot of good growers say don't chase the pH. Hope this all helps in some way cause then you can help me back with my pH. I don't water for another 4/5 days so if you could come up with some answers by then it would be appreciated. Thanks again dude.

Ok I'm getting really frustrated: It is just getting worse! I already flushed Wednesday and Saturday. I just watered her last night with no ph mix in my water, just purified water. NO NUTES, NOTHING. I want to fuken flip right now! I'm going this weekend to pick up some flushing agents for this soil before I kick this plant over and start again!

If I don't PH balance my water mixed with nutes, then I will be giving my plant a 4.5ph water with NUTES. Ah, This just cannot be right. If I give it that low PH this plant with just die over! If I don't fix this problem really quick then all the leaves are going to die and fall off because almost every leaf is like this. it's fukin spreading really quick! Im mad!

Hit them with some calmag My plants did that exact same shit last grow. Looks like calcium and magnesium deficiency

are you sure a deffinciency ? you gave more nutes after first two flushes ... I may be off ( not an expert tbh) but I would reflush and let it dry up a bit ... then see what you get from that point on the new growth .... dont kick it over just yet ... I have seen worse turned around .. good luck - hope you get it back on track ...

Well my Nutrients have cal and mag in it, are you saying that the nutes don't have enough of those paticular NUTRIENTS.? Are you saying for me to pick up a cal mag bottle from hydro store? Now if I add cal mag to my fox farm nutrients it will be to much Nutrients, NO? More info please. Post those pics up, I would like to see what i could be in for!

the reason I added more nutes after the flush was because I started noticing the brown spots. I said too myself, maybe i flushed way too much and all nutrients from soil were flushed out. So added very very low NUTES. The reason I flushed was because I noticed yellow leaf tips. then I woke up, brown spots. flushed again. more brown spots. added very little nutes. Now this! Flush again! Or should I just pick up some real flush fluids for the plant and forget the water!

i think maybe you need to change nutes. your hydroponic (am I correct?) nutrients are lowering the pH as you said yourself, but I think not all fertilizers do that (not sure though. but I think biobizz for instance doesn't). IF you are in soil you might want to use organic fertilizers. I'll bet your water is very soft too, which is why it's so sensitive on the pH (going down so drastically with the nutes). your pH that's off is probably the reason for your different problems, it may be aggravated by high salinity but I guess flushing doesn't help in such a case (so we learn anyway).

So another method you could *try* to overcome this is to add just calcium to your nutrient solution. You can try getting those pharm tablets they sell as an additive for humans, i think that should be good to use, or just some boil some eggs in your water (haven't actually tried any of those). perhaps calmag could be an answer too, but I think maybe the magnesium will undo the calcium effect - calcium buffers your water up, this is why hard water (which contain a lot of calmag) is less sensitive on pH.

good luck and tell us how you do.

Ya i would get calmag if I were you man. I use the whole fox farm line along with reverse osmosis purified water. Last grow my plants looked real nice up until about week 4 or 5 of flower. I thought I had over fertilized so I flushed numerous times, which didn't help. I couldn't figure out for the longest time what was actually fukin with my plants, come to find out it was the water I was using. My girls this time starting doing the same thing but as seedlings, someone told me to get some calmag and give it a try. I went ahead and got some, and all the yellow tips and spots went away

for a stanger with 5 post ... I agree .... let em dry out and see what happens from there - the new growth will tell you a story one way or another ...... no more water .. yea i said flush again earlier but your post after that about how light it was chsnged my mind lol .. once again good luck
