Hydro growers, where do you keep your moms?

Im getting 2 different cuttings I would like to turn into moms.
My question for you other Hydro growers is where do you keep your moms that you take clones from?

I have 3 seperate tents
1 GL120 for veg(3'x3' ebb & Flow Table with 1,000W dimable ballast running MH bulb)
1 Growlab Clonelab that has no setup yet but running 2 4' 4 bulb T5's(will have propogation trays and whatnot)
and 1 flowering tent (ebb and grow monster with 2x 1,000W Digital ballasts running HPS bulbs)

Now I know I wont be keeping these moms in the flower tent so here are my two ideas. Which do you think would be best

Having moms in 1Gallon soil pots under one of the 4' 4 bulb T5's in my clonelab
or having the moms in my Veg tent in the ebb and flow table situated in rockwool and Hydroton rock(all inside the netpot) As the roots grow out of the netpots I was thinking of just shaving them back.

Which would you all recommend?

Witch do you want to maintain?
You're already maintaining an ebb and flow table, seems to me that would be less work.

I keep my moms in a waterfarm 8 pack, almost no maintainance.

problem is, my moms would be in the same table as my vegging plants that are going in and out. How do I maintain the roots? what about the 1,000w light? Of course the mom will be taller than the smaller plants just vegging.

Keep mine in 5 gal dwc buckets very easy to maintain only thing is when they get large they can and will drink allot so topping of daily is a must but that's pretty easy.

as much as I would like to d that drgreen. Im keeping moms in a Growlab clonelab which isnt so tall. it would work ok only the floro I have to sit over them basically takes a chunk out of the height available due to how I must hang them

#1 absolutely never shave your roots. That is major unwanted stress for a producing mother. 1 gallon pots in your glo lab would be fine. Plenty of room for turning. Your putting 20k in lumens per 4ft bank I do believe. My avatar is my 2 mothers that were less than 50 days old. both mothers produced roughly 75 clones a piece. mind you these were dwc mommas. If your not taking high amounts of clones your better off to go with soil. You leave an established mother unattended in dwc for 3 or 4 days she can get out of control quick. Thats just my 2 cents.

Yeah, that's mine thanks. It's actually a "folded" RDWC, there are pics of the Franken-cooler in the "any kind of cooler thread" in the DWC forums.

I keep my mothers in soil but you're going to need pots larger than a gallon. I use 5 gallon pots for them and leave them under the T5s. I'll throw them under the 400 when the veg system isn't running for a couple of weeks between runs.

The size of the container and plant are directly related to how many cutting you need at a time, remember that. If you're trying to get 50 cuttings a mother, you'll need big fat momma's If you're doing smaller grows, make your mom's an appropriate size. I also do new moms every couple of grows. Once a mom gets too big/bushy/scraggly, she gets cloned and retired and one of her cuttings becomes the new mom.

I keep mine under my t5s in five gallon pots. My friend made a little 7 gallon bubbler, which he runs under his t5s.

I don't keep moms either. Just the day before I flip to 12/12 I take the clone, and start rooting it in aero under t8's. If the clones start to get too big and it's not time to start another cycle, then I just clone the clone. Keep the lights low, and the nutes low, and they will grow very slowly...then when you start another cycle, you just start vegging with good lights and appropriate nutes they explode just as you would expect.
