ok i have 2 plants. buddah deimos is 16days old. and big buddah bubble cheese is 8days old. the first lot of pictures is the deimos. ok im growing in coco, and im having problems with purple stems starting to appear. when lights are of the temp is droping to around 14deg cel...would this cause the purple? also the bubblecheese seems to have a white coating on its first set of leafs. also with feeding the nutes part a & b, 17ml per 5litres i use (2.5ltrs per pot) says to feed 4-6 times daily, i however feed it once 2-3days. is this wrong or correct or i have no idea im a little lost. any help would be much appreciated thanks in advance

14 degrees celsius is a little low. thats equivalent to 57.2 degrees fahrenheit. You want it to range between 68-78 F (20-25.5 C). Cold temperature may cause purple coloring, but that could also be caused by strain/genetics. Nevertheless you still need to raise your temperature.
Dont start feeding nutes just yet, only water because the plants are still young. If i were you only start feeding when the plant starts to show signs of nutrient deficiency. I'm guessing this would be around week 2 of veg. When you do start feeding begin with a quarter or less of the recommended amount on the bottle and work your way up.
Im not exactly sure what you mean by the white coating on the first set of leaves since i cant see anything in the pics. but that could be mold. Check your humidity. I doubt its mold though since you are running on lower temperatures and im guessing its simply beginner's paranoia :)
Good luck on your grow!

In coco you can feed this young as it has no nutes to speak off unless i am wrong here, this is what i was led to believe. I do not subscribe to the theory of planting the stem of plants in the soil up to the first leaves, if i do this i repot about an inch lower at every repot till i achive the desired goal. Anyway it is too late now and maybe if you were trying to get the stem to root you would have used some rooting powder or liquid to encorage this before possible damp sets in. People do it so who am i to complain, i personally don't agree.

To my knowledge dosen't coc require a complete fert with cal/mag, micros and macros? miss just one of these in coco or hydro and you run into problems. Just a few ideas. Peace

In coco you do def. start feeding right from the beginning (at least with canna you do). I probably would start with less than the recommend concentration to be safe, but I'm not 100% sure. i seriously doubt the white coating on the leaves is mould, are you using spray nutes? are you spraying the plants at all? spray nutes and plain water can leave white stains and it's really nothing to worry about. If you are concerned about it take a clean (i would suggest new) damp cloth or sponge and gently wipe the leaves. There are loads of threads specifically about growing with canna coco so look them up and you are far more likely to find more useful and reliable info.

14 deg. is not that cold at night but it could be causing the purpling. if you can get the temps up a couple of degrees you'll be fine i reckon. my night temps hover around 16,17 and my girls are very happy. although 20 degrees is supposedly optimum it is far from necessary.

Hope you figure it out mate, i'm sure you'll be fine seeing as you dont have any really serious problems.

if you cant get a heater to heat try putting the pots on polystyrene foam pads to keep them off the floor, put bottles of water in the room (water holds it temp for quite a time).

The plant is in veg so keep lights on 24hours and restrict ventilation till temperature of the grow room increase slightly from the heat of the light, this is a viable solution although not sure of your own individual setup and wether it would work. Just an idea.

You can run 24 hours lights on if you want, i do this a lot of the times no problem but mainly better if the plant is healthy first. Will sort out the heat issue for the veg room but not when in flower. Seems like you got to work on them ferts and waterings as well as come up with a good idea to solve the heat problem. What light is that by the way and what fans and ventilation do you run?

I would use polystyrene foam pads to keep the pots raised of the ground, the floor is always the coldest part of a house. I love the setup by the way nice.

do you have any ideas on how to get the temps down? my grow closet hits up to 105 degrees with the door all the way open and 2 fans one blowing on the plants and one blowing the hot air out and im concerned for my girls and i cant afford and inline fan at the moment

Make sure your exhaust fan is place at the top of your grow area. and have in the intake on the bottom. you can also have your lights to turn on at night when the temperature drops, so at the hottest times of the day your lights will be off.
If you add CO2 to your grow space the plants should be able to tolerate higher temps, but 105 is still too high..

if you can, try and get a large stone slab which is roughly the same size as the floor of your room, or come to think of it you could just go and get a number of smaller tiles. make sure they are matt though (not shiny) and the thicker the better. the stone will absorb heat gradually throughout the day and release it gradually through the night. I did the same thing when i had a pet lizzard to keep it warm over night and it worked really well.

BTW, i was referring to previous posts about cool night time temps, not high temps. just realised the theme of the thread changed slightly... my bad.

At 105 your plants will die! If the room your grow room is in is sealed and is hot to begin with then you will never lower temps without an airconditioner. An inline would cool the air to some degree but oscillating fans only serve to move the air about. Run smaller lights, direct fan over the light and so that the heat of the fan is being directly blown outside the grow goom. There are not many ways to cool a grow room without venting to the outside or without an inline exhaust fan. Sometimes it is the grow box that is the problem, do you really need it or can you just grow directly in the room? Small confines of grow boxes allow it to heat up quick.

the closet im growin in is a 4x4x9 and its a stealth grow so i really cant move it directly to the room ive managed to lower it down to 92 but it doesnt seem to wanna drop past that

You still need to lower it somehow, you need a buffer for those hot days! Any other way you can think of and how did you manage to lower it to 92?

I just had the small fan that was blowing on the plants blowing on the bulbs and the big fan blowing the hot air out of the closet
