Not an Emergency, Sort of Under Control but I Need Assistance Please! (Pics)

Hey guys,

I am having a little trouble with my plants and I am pretty sure what most of it is and am countering it with methods explained on this site and others.

I believe what is happening is nute burn. The reason behind this diagnosis is I mistakenly got nute water ontop the bottom leaves and they are yellow/browning and dieing. Second, I know I messed up and watered them with the wrong water. To elaborate, I have two water buckets. One is a slightly higher concentrated nute water that I take half that / half fresh before I water - which balances out the nutes. I was retarded, it was late and I mistakenly just took the water and watered them. The mix isnt TOO much, but probably a solid double its dosage, which is very bad.

What I have done to combat this is "flush" my plants out. Since they are in large/small solo cups I cant put them under the bathtub faucet or id blow out all the soil, so i left them one at a time under the bathroom sink flushing not as close to room temp water as I could get from the tap for 30 mins each. The plants took a hit and were drooping to all hell for a while from the obvious stress and over watering but now they are coming back.

Please take a look at these pics and let me know what could be going on. Some of my smaller plants got dwarfed because of it, the older ones are taking it like men. Do you guys think I have an issue with nute lock, root rot? something other than what I am seeing? This is my first grow and I dont want to overlook a detail that could ruin all my plants.

First of all, your lower leaves look more like theyre deficient than burnt. from the pics atleast, they look yellowish or white to me. Nute burn generally causes the outer fringes of the leaf to burn and become crispy to the touch. Nute burn also is evident throughout the plant not just the bottom. MOST importantly, you probably drowned the fuck outa you roots. Generally, people flush with 2-3x volume of pot in water (ex: 6-9 gallons of water run the a 3 gallon pot. In your case, 2-3 solo cups worth of water would have sufficed. You might get away with running water through it 30 min if your growing in a mix thats high in perlite or something that can drain fast and hold air, but in regular soil your just going to drown your roots. They need oxygen just as importantly as water and nutes. Id say let her dry out real good, and then start feeding about half strength nutes. only water until you see some run off out of the bottom and try to spread your water evenly throughout the pot to avoid dry pockets. also make sure you put some good size holes in those cups to promote drainage.

looks over watered (droopy leaves) and nirtogen deficient. Increase the strength of your veg nute and let the soil get a bit dry before watering again.

nitrogen deficiency should cause yellowing of older leaves - those do look yellow but also show a bit or purple. Have you pHed your water? Purple generally indicates phosphorous deficiency which can be caused by pH, cold temps, high levels of other nutes, or insufficient phosphorous. I'll guarantee you the droopy leaves are due to over watering.

I would transplant into a larger container with some good soil in it and not worry about that bottom leaf. The plant might cut its nutrient supply and it might fall off but the rest of your plant looks great and will carry on. Don't stress too much.

I understand everything that you guys are saying but I think either you are misunderstanding me or I didnt explain it correctly. If you look at the close up leaf picture, the fan leaf is below the lip of the cup. By accident while I was watering, I watered it too fast and filled the cup to the brim - submerging the leaf in nute water - which kills the leaf. Now - I didnt leave the faucet in the bathroom on full blast for 30 mins, it was at a dribble right in the middle of the pot (w/o dripping on plant). My soil mixture is VERY high perilite and peat moss so they are fine and already have come back and recovered from the flush.

And to gastanker, yeah - What I am doing right now is planning what size pots I want to buy for my growbox, because I have to cut holes into the bottom to make "slots" for the pots to save about 6-7inches of space. I plan on letting them marinade in big solo cups for a while because im dwarfing them - I dont want these plants to grow over 3 feet or the box wont work the way I want... But as for the nitrogen deficiency, real talk here im broke dont even have 10 bucks to my name after my bills so I cant get new nutes specifically for nitrogen - do you kno of or could you link me to anywhere that I can get nitrogen from around the yard items? compost etc?

That's shock from overwatering and lack of oxygen like Gastanker said. you should get her out of that mud ASAP

Uhm bro, the water that I water the plants with has two air stones one in each water bucket (nutes and fresh) and the soil is 30% perilite 30% peat moss and 30% top soil - ground and mixxed in a spare coffer grinder. Its far from 'mud' and drains very well. I know that the plants are coming out of shock because if you read half of the post you would have seen that I flushed them RECENTLY and they just started bouncing back.

My main issue is the yellowing, the tips of the new growth were browning - which is why I flushed them originally. Its only been a day or so - the newest growth is too small for me to see I will have to wait til tomorrow morning or afternoon I would assume; unless the plant is in shock still.

I wouldn't recommend dwarfing a plant by constricting it's roots. Dwarf it by LST, fimming, topping, or flowering early - small containers will just hurt your yield and the plants overall health.

Sorry man, I just saw the pictures and kinda read just pieces of your post.. I missed a lot of details and that was rude. Glad to hear their bouncing back, nevertheless you should re pot ASAP if you can.. that way you make sure your don't have any hot spots left. Then water with a few drops of superthrive and they should recover nicely.
