do negative ions, especially from stuff like salt lamps that don't have funny by products like annoying sound or whatever, help the marijuana plant

i would like to know if any real science is out there proving that negative ions make better marjiuana

From Wiki:

The 'ions' referred to are in fact charged oxygen or nitrogen molecules surrounded by a cluster of water molecules, rather than ions. Scientific studies have shown no particular benefit from a greater concentration of negative ions.

I can see no scientific reason why this would help a plant at all, it's just a matter of making humans feel better. Ozone generators however, kill pathogens in the air but may burn plants if not vented correctly. Ozone generators can also be used to get rid of smells, but activated carbon is a better bet.

negative ion generators are said to lower plant smells, as opposed to helping the plant grow. Smell particles are positive charged, and by flooding the air with negative ions, the two particles bond in the air, get heavy, and fall to the ground.

so, your plant won't grow better, but should smell better, but it'll be dustier in the surrounding area (unless you ground some tin somewhere)
