Minimum lighting for flowering

What is the minimum lighting I can get by with for flowering?
I'm a newbie who honestly thought my plants would not live
this long (I'm a non-green thumb). I also obviously want to
keep costs low as this is my first attempt.

CFLS are your cheapest for flowering 2700k at wal-mart they are about 76 cents a piece......18/6?????? you wanna stay in veg or do you want to flower

As I said, I want to flower so what watt (spiral cfl's) should I use?:roll:

sorry numbnumb about that....as i was saying my first grow i used about 10-23watt cfls 2700k yes those spirals check out my gallery to see my results

yeah wtf emerald, 18/6, come on thats veg, tech209 is right, 12/12 lighting is for flowering. DUH! i would say 3-4 23w-40w cfl MINIMUM if you want the slightest bit of bud. any less would be a waste of time really, but the more the better, buy as many and as big as you can afford.

Raeman, thank you for the straight up on the lighting. Yep 12/12 is supposed to be for flowering thats fo sho.:peace:

no prob i dont think that emerald knows what he is talking about, but you really shoudl get as many lights as you can afford, you wont be sorry in the end, plus... cfl last 14 months on straight 24/0 light so 12/12 they should last 28 months, thats a couple harvests worth at least!!!

yup emerald is hmmmm how can i say it......very intresting fella.....tried to get all crazy....annoying!!!!!!! anyways thanx raeman for noticing that rep+ to you and yes im not growing with cfls anymore but that doesnt mean i hate em....you can pull out some decent bud without having to spend alot on
bulbs and on ur monthly bill and yes just like rae said get as many of those as you can....good idea too would be picking up some y adapters from home depot for about 1.50 a piece that way you can have 2 cfl bulbs per socket instead of one.............:joint:

not really, mh is in the 6500k spectrum and therefore better for vegging, hps is the flowering king. thanks for the rep
