Hairs changing colors has nothing to do with harvest time. Some strains the hairs start changing early. The hairs start changing around 3 weeks on the stuff I'm growing now- and it's not because of any problems. The plant will brown pistils and it will grow more during flowering. That's just how it goes- one day the pistils could be 50% browned and the next day a ton of new white ones grew. The only true way to check for harvest time is by the color of the trics. Get a microscope. :blsmoke:

yea are they good to have if you want to know exactly when to harvest and it depends on what type of hight you want from the plant. If you look in the scope you can actualy see the color of the bulb on the top of the tric and the % of amber ones tell you if its harvest time or not. The scope is such a nice thing to have cause the plant looks amazing under the scope at all stages of development.

haha.. you know thats right!! for the first 2 hours after i bought that thing i was about to take it back.. thought it was broken,,,, just takes a steady hand like u said ( and u have to take into consideration that the image is inverted so if u want to see more of the upper right of the image u have to move it down/left ) youll get the hang of it..

ive been reading your thread and similar happened to me on my last grow. i noticed a male and stupidly i cut it out my nft tank and completly forgot about the roots that were left in tank..

a couple of days went by and my female looked ill and couldnt understand why.
then when i looked at her roots i got a surprise man.. the spreader sheet was black/brown wi mouldy stuff..
i thought about keepin her going but would have been a loosing battle man..
so now i know not to do that eva again.

your other question about the pistels turnin brown/orange thats completly normal and it will all depend on what strain your growin coz if its an 8 wk plant then DONT chop it till at least then.
30x magnyfier shud do to see the trics and when they go cloudy you should chop her dwn or you can wait till they go an amber colour..

I thought you said you had over 80% turning orange or red. By the pics you posted those plants aren't being affected by rot.
Rot spends pretty quickly, and those plants look really nice.

I think you need more air stones in that bin, I hardly see any water moving around. Low oxygen in the res can also cause problems. It looks like something is starting to develop in there by the darkening color, make sure it doesn't get any darker.
Those trichs are really damaged, I bet it would be a crappy high if you tried it.
removing the hermie is up to you, I don't know if it pollinated the others already.
