Honestly, I look for the whole shebang! It has to be very potent (I like that instant, hit you behind the eyes high, before you even exhale) for me to consider. Generally from there, it is just flavor and taste profiles that I like, and would like to reproduce. The yield is important, but I do not need monsters, just something that, when treated right, will yield 3-6 ounces per plant. Was wondering if you dont mind telling me what qualities you look for in a plant to select to be a Mom?
Peace

Out of every group, there is usually a superstar, and it is usually pretty obvious, to me, which one to pick as a mother. Usually, the mothers are the plants that my patients could not get enough of....haha.
Back in college, there was a northern lights strain out of Humbolt County that we used to get our hands on. We nicknamed it "Big Bud" and "Diggity Orange" (although it is not the actual Big Bud, they were just BIG buds). Anyways, I happened to know the guys that got it, and it was very high in demand. This is the bud that I judge all others by, because it was consistently hard hitting, it was always the smelliest thing in the world, and always weighed perfectly!
When that bud came into town, you pretty much had to be on a short list of people that could get it, almost like a buyers club. It was so good, that everyone smoked it as personal, and would hardly ever sell any. Anyways, EVERYONE wanted this when it came into town, and I try to mimic that situation with my selection of beauties. I want ORIGINAL flavors, like the coffee flavor of the Ice Anomaly. The Blueberry Widow is so beautiful, and stoney, and has a sweet, berry smell that will jump right out of the bag.
I still dream of finding a cut of this Diggity Orange we used to get....by far, one of the top 5 strains I have EVER smoked!
