Leaves Starting to Yellow and Droop from the Bottom Up!

Hey guys,

I've looked through a number of threads trying to find a definitive answer but I there are loads! I'm hoping one of the experts here can help.

Yesterday evening I saw that my girl's first leaves were starting to turn shades of yellow/luminescent green and were drooping. Today I discovered the problem has started to travel up the plant and now the same thing is happening to the bottom fan leaves! This is my first grow and I don't know what's causing it.

She's a fem Nirvana Short Rider AF, day 35 from germ, in MG multipurpose compost and the only nute I've added is half a flowertab, as per advice on Nirvana.. She's on 18/6 lights and showed pistols on day 27/28. I water and/or foliar feed every second day with tap water, left to sit out for 24 hours before use.

Hi Angie, Sounds like nitrogen deficiency, try adding more of something that contains high (N) like your grow(Veg) nutrients.

I use a product from Grotek called "Instagreen" its 3-0-0 so its only nitrogen. I just usa a lil in their food and do a foliar spray when they start yellowing up from the bottom.

Maybe increasing the amount of PPM in their food would be a good idea if they are staring to feed more.

Sounded to me like its going one leaf set at a time... Angie please corrct me if im wrong....

If it is one set at a time starting from the bottom working up, this is usually a N def for me.

Honkeycorn, yes it seems to be working it's way up 1-2 leaves at a time, it started with the true leaves. A few of the leaves further up the plant show signs of nute burn just on the tips, but this happened long before the yellowing and hasn't gotten worse so I've not been too concerned about it.

The only food I provided is half a flowertab: http://www.nirvanashop.com/us/marijuana-growth-solutions/flower-tabs.html Nirvana recommend 1/2 for autos as they're so nute sensitive. It's supposed to provide all that the plant needs so if I add more N, couldn't that cause more burn?

First, please look at getting a real meal for them, those tabs dont work too well.

That makes me even more suspicious that it is a (N) defeciency which is not nute burn.

It means that there is not enough (N) in its system so its trying to pull it from the leaves.

Nute burn is from overfeeding.

No they were from Vancouver Seed Company, they are still growing strong... have a lil hermie issue so Im expecting a few seeds :( but they are monsters none the less and not finishing them would yeild nothing.

Jopefully hae some new pic`s up on the thread in a few days.

Your description made me think N deficiency right off the bat however, I see that the flower tab thing challenges that. Still, it sounds like deficiency. I think you should investigate the reliability of these tabs and their ability or lack of ability to feed. This will help you dtermine if it's deficiency or toxicity.

And your using tap water...which could be okay if your water provider cares about that sort of thing but could also wreck your entire grow if u live where I live...and have hard water. If you have hard water (too many tds) the roots are affected first causing the plant not to absorb nutes and subsequently become nute deficient. In the meantime the grower keeps chasing nute fixes while applying them with the same bad water thus amplifying the problem. And leaving the water out overnight does not fix this. Check your water...

NICE (ass u me)ion Why do people always go to the water issue? 99 percent of all the tap water will work. 2 questions can you drink it? do plants outside grow? I do not know of two many areas where you cant drink the water and plants don't grow because of it. POPPY COCK!!!

Your right when people always say it's a water issue, that's what i kept hearing sooo like a dumbass I went out and got a 400 dollar RO system, come to find out it STILL didn't make a difference.. Your water has to be REALLY fucked up to have a negative effect on your plants..

I hear hard water just requires a hard water fert, they sell them in the grow shops overhere because some areas of england (not wales) are hard water areas.
