you can use either tap water, or some people even like to use ro'ed water, or even bottled water if your house water has a high ppm to it.. i like to let my water (tap) sit out for around 24 hours or so in an open container so that the floride has a chance to evaporate it before you use it on your babies..
some people pee into their plants for extra N.

I'm one of the lucky ones to have well water....before I moved, I had tap from a city reservoir which changed a lot according to chlorine content etc.....if you have access to RO, use it....if you have well water, it's much better.....if you have "tap", be sure to let the chlorine evap.....rain ater chnages at time but is fine to use...much better than tap....
