Making Seeds for Future Use

Hello RIU, hope you all are having a great day!!!

So i was wondering how one would make seeds for future use.

Ok, let say a grower has Strain (A) (female) and Strain (B) (male).

Do you just get some pollen off of the male once it is available?

Also, do you just brush the pollen on the bud on female plant?

thanks

Once you see the pollen all over the male leaves take a cue-tip dip it in the pollen then brush it on the white hairs of a female bud. This will give you about 30 seeds. If that male is anywhere near the female she'll be covered in pollen and you'll have 1,000's of seeds.

for the best seed set, it is best to save the pollen and apply it every couple days for 2-3 weeks. this will pollinate new flowers as they emerge. be sure to let your plants grow until the seeds are ripe, this can take several weeks longer than the standard flowering time.

Hey great info bro! One more question,

How do you know when the seeds are ready?

And, will they be reg seeds like male/female mix?

Thanks

they are ready when the calyxes start to spread open the large dark seeds start to poke out. if you dont care about smoking the flowers you can let it go until seeds start to fall out if you flick the bud. yes, they will be regular seeds. for the good genetic diversity, select the two or three strongest males and mix their pollen. use this to pollinate your two or three best females. you could always just cross the two strongest ones, but you never know what genes you might lose by limiting your selection that way.

Be careful though. If you accidentally brush a little of that pollen off onto a wall (or some other surface that other plants in your garden might touch) you could end up finding random seeds in future harvest for quite awhile...
