It should be about doing whats right, and no offense, but most modern "terrorists" generally "look like" Muslim guys with beards (although they dont exclusively) and the Captain is the Captain (if you really understand what that word means you'll get what Im saying) of the plane. If he doesnt want to take you or has suspicion about you, you'll have to find another pilot, when he's in charge he's in charge and I dont think anyone should really be allowed question that. If someone is being delibrately racist then its not ok, but if they genuinely have a reason to feel uncomfortable they dont have to fly. How was the Captain to know their backgrounds that we got in the report? He reacted, it might have been incorrectly, but still he made a call for what he believed to be the safety of the other passengers.

I grew up on a farm. I've hunted my whole life. I'm retired military. I've had to deal with folks like you throwing around the "redneck" term most of my life. Normally, they have been the same folks who demand equality for everyone. You can't have it both ways.

Your post exhibits a blind trust in media outlets. Press releases are not all inclusive. Damage control is very important. Selling newspapers and getting clicks on links is a method for generating capital.
Your perspective on this appears to be limited. Jumping to conclusions without including all of the facts (which we do not know) is akin to jumping out of a plane with a backpack full of silverware.

Ive also lived in Texas, every state in New England and California.....I now live in Maine (the second most heavily wooded state in the US)......I was a "city person" for a long time, now most of the people I grew up with would consider me a "redneck." To me the term "redneck" has nothing to do with race in any way, its more about social and political ignorance. Ink the world, your post implies that a reporter(or group of reporters) were capable of uncovering all parties' motivations in the matter of what, a few short hours. From my experience, it takes considerably longer to ascertain a single party's motivators.

Redneck is historically a term for working men, normally caucasian. The term comes from the sunburn pattern found at the base of the skull, connecting through the upper back. This area get sun-baked while working in the sun, wearing a shirt (typically long sleeve), and some form of hat. I didn't have the misfortune of growing up around hookers, gangbangers, heroin, and crack. A few of the folks in the community grew a little weed and we consumed a lot of cheap beer around things we set on fire.
A lot of the folks I grew up with, played football with, still work their own fields. These are rednecks. They don't run around wearing pointy white hats and hating other folks because of race, well, most of them don't. It's Georgia so a few of the folks don't like anyone different than them.

Drawing definitive conclusions from a brief newspaper article is akin to looking at a few bricks outside a construction site and telling someone what the mirror will look like in the bathroom. You are free to make any description you want. Will it be the actual description? Probably not, but that will not matter as the conversation will long be forgotten.
