Please Tell Me What's Wrong With These Leaves!

Well in promix which some people consider " hydro " (i guess) I had a problem of the promix's ph going real low and locking out mag, check your ph and correct if nessry. By any chance are you using RO water?

I would say your plant has a calcium and magnesium deficiency as well (yellowing from outter edge leaves, dark spots). However, it doesn't mean that by adding these that the plant will resolve itself. It is often other factors that cause the plant to be unable to utilise these elements, and generally a PH lock out, or nutrient lockout would be the catalyst for that. I cannot really comment on your PH level as I only grow organic. I have also seen plants perfectly healthy with purple stems so perhaps part of your plants genetic makeup.

How is the new growth on the plant? And what do you feed them at the moment? And have you changed anything recently (increased nutrients, reduced nutrients, changed PH, etc).

I had to recently halve the nutrients due to people telling me it was too high and because the plants were rapidly deteriorating. They do seem to be making a comeback. The new growth is lush. Because from dosing with too high nutrient levels before,has that maybe caused a nutrient lockout of cal/mag???

No RO water.... I have used both bottled and tap water with both giving the same results

I have seen people post that magnesium is a micronutrient but in fact it is a macronutrient. Cannabis uses ALOT of magnesium during it lifespan, almost as much as npk

kiddbudd, I would say if your new growth is looking lush, just keep monitoring that. Problems can be caused when we try to add things to the recipe that will only exacerbate the problem. I would say you have hit the nail on the head there. If your nutes where too high, this can often cause a nute lock out, plants show problems, people add more things in, problems persist.

I would continue with what you are doing, check your PH is what other hydro guys recommend ( I am sure there are some opinions on that) and as long as the new leaves and growth is good, then you will be fine.

If you have leaves with problems, when the plant is back to being healthy, the leaves don't just turn back to green, they stay looking messed up, but are still doing their job.

So you don't think it's a Cal/Mag def.... ONLY a Magnesium def yeah? How would I correct it and why is it happening... Any particular reason?

usually ph issues but with mj hell who knows it could be one of many things lol If you decide that it is a mag def then you can add calmag, or epsom salt or im sure there is 100 other calmag products out there. Cal and mag work in conjuction so could be both, but i do know that too much calcium locks out magnesium

+1 on the K def. Flush Flush and get the ratios right. PH acidity locks N which also locks Potassium Ca, Zing and Mg.
