Perhaps they got an infraction as well, but they didn't have enough infraction points for a ban to result? An infraction isn't a ban... however if you end up with more in a specified period, 10 days of RIU vacation is what you get.

See, if I was a troll I would take Serapis quoting me...TWICE and not going with what I said...TWICE, as an insult and go back at him, but I am smarter than that and respect other's opinions.

While I have sen FDD read back on posts and give infractions, I don't think he could have gone about it differently then getting worked up and handing them out like candy. Yes, people need to not be so quick to insult back, but do you think that when he is reading back through the posts then he could find the true instigator? I don't mean to tell a mod how to do their job or anything, but I CAN give my two cents on how I think things can be handled differently.

If only people weren't so quick to get defensive, trolls, elite members and mods alike.

Now guys, you all are invited to smoke this bowl with me. But if you fuck up the circle then we reserve the right to fuck you up. Those are the rules, you agree to follow them when you sit down in the circle :)

he didn't get anything bro.... he didn't say anything directly insulting at all, that's the fucked up part of the rule... he was being /indirectly/ insulting.. by saying that I was spreading misinformation about breeding unless I did a punnet square...

and that's fucked up shit, I blew up because I had a great thread up until that point of that dude posting like 9 times trying so desperately to explain how I don't have a point, getting lost in pools of logic, when I even said from the BEGINNING OF THE THREAD that I didn't want to get lost in details.

so really this insult thing just allows people like that to go in and have patience and nit pick, until someone blows up. they may see it as them clarifying knowledge, but if I can't tell some detail oriented fuck to fuck off when he tries to say I'm spreading information, that's fucked up.

basically this no insult rule gives us no other outlet but to play the trolls game back at teh troll.

do you really think I"m going to walk away from my own thread because of that fuck?

I'm good on a club... I just think the insult rule should be changed to no attacking people...

there's a difference between calling someone a prick and telilng them to fuck off and attacking them...

I was sarcastic about it. ;) Just start a petition poll with the poll being 'Should we change the Insult rule to Malicious Harassment?' and have a closing date of a week, and once it's done you forward the results to Rolli!

Signed too man, lets hope something finally changes from this.

Just the fact that people that "argue and insult" each other are teaming together to sign this and (hopefully) make RIU a better place again should mean something...

And that is exactly why the petition will be ignored.... I imagine RIU will gladly show anyone that doesn't like the rules, the door...
