I defend no one but myself. :cool: They can do as they please. I just hope they don't ban someone whose a hacker or has hacker friends! :( I love this site and the people to much for them to ban someone who's going to destroy the site.
 
I would like to also point out that the hottest chic thread2011 became the most liked thread in history here hitting 909 likes on 120 pages in the three weeks that it lasted.

the pix that make you laugh just recently suprassed it on likes(981), but its over a 1000 pages long and over two years old

what other threads on RIU have been enjoyed as much by its users? Why take the fun stuff away from us?
just don't understand...

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Anyone who really has the capability to do this -- wouldn't be bothered with a site like this. If they were to be banned -- I think they woud simply start something themselves or find a new place to hang. Going through the trouble to exploit a vBulletin bug, then find the right sql inject statement to purge the mysql database is just too time consuming, and I simply don't have time and could care less.... errr, I mean, someone simply wouldn't have time..

besides, Im sure the admin of this site is smart enough to know he/she should be doing sql dumps on a nightly basis...

The only reasoning I can see why they do this, is because these pages do show up on search engines, and the mods probably want to portray a site with mature like minded individuals... but then I would counter-argue and say you can easily select certain threads to be crawled... (hidden from s.e. bots)
 
I hear ya. None of the moderation thus far makes much sense. But unfortunately this website is under private domain, the owners can do with us what they want. At this point, I don't think complaining will change anything. We have a choice, we live with it, or we leave it. I think some of us are choosing to leave it. Some are choosing to live with it out of convenience. Maybe someday, someone here will build something new and others will follow. I'm not really sure why the mods choose to do what they do. Frankly I don't give a damn. Im not here for the mods, Im here for the cool people that are here, and I get to learn a little while I bullshit with my online buddies.

The mods are only making it harder for me to enjoy myself. And I think many others feel the same way I do. It will get to a point where one of two things will happen. Either members will start dropping like flies for a new, better website, or certain mods will be forced to leave. Who knows what the future holds.
 
Well I know for a fact at least two mods here hate fdd:)

shit.. lets do some Egypt style shit up in here...

See, here is where I have a problem. As long as your are thread jumping within Tolk N Talk why does it matter if I thread jump? It's all meaningless fun anyway. I can understand if the mods had a problem if you did a thread jump from Tolk N Talk to Harvesting or Indoor Growing. Those threads are more serious and should be left for learning... but that's not the case here... the mods treat us as if we were a bunch of kids who don't know any better...
