Moderation is good in moderation. I think someone else mentioned that too. I agree -- flame wars does nobody any good. But there are other ways of handling it besides clamping down on members so hard they are forced to leave. It's not like RIU offers anything special that other forums dont, it's just a convenience factor -- that eventually people will get over and either move on, or figure out other ways of communicating in a new location on the web.
