H20, im pretty sure theres oxygen in water haha. as well when you water, oxygen is brought into the root system and coco. you cant over water coco! some people use it as a flood and drain medium that gets flooded a few times a day, so there is definetely a good amount of oxygen exchange going on for them to be able to do that.
This is very much untrue. You can most definitely over-water in coco. Over watering is about frequency, not volume, and young root systems simply don't need that much moisture. You can push all the water/nutrients you desire through a planter but if the roots don't fill the planter you are not only wasting solution you are also ensuring the roots never get as much air as they need.
Coco is not as airy as littlegrower2004 will have you believe. I have had my battles with people like this who make these outrageously nonsensical claims because I suffered at their hands in my earlier days.
I'll say it one last time, and this is 100% true, you can over water in coco. This guy is talking about "some people..." but not "in my garden..." and that should let you know who to listen to here. Until the root zone is full you want to take it easy on the plants. The fuller and healthier the root zone the happier the plants.
Coco retains lots of moisture, it is very spongey, so you can choose to water it as frequently as twice a day or infrequently as once every 3 days. There are many factors that come into play and there is no definitive rule when it comes to coco. The versatility is one of the best parts about the media in this regard. You do not need to be a slave to your media.
My plants are in 3 gallon planters but contain only about 2 gallons of media. They can hold about 6L of solution. These plants on day 35 drink about 2L per day.
But these smaller plants in one gallon planters don't need water more than once every 48 hours, 72 to 96 hours is normal for them.
So take a look at the health of the plant and water appropriately for her needs. You don't need to water daily until your roots are happy and your plant is healthy.
