Can shape of bucket effect plant?

Hey guys i was thinking about trying out some taller skinnier buckets as opposed to the regular shorter 3gal or 5gals reason being it would create alot more floor area for me. Curious if anyone has done any experimenting to see if it affects growth depending on bucket shape or if anyone knows of any threads its discussed on thanks everyone

I grew a plant in a tapper-ware which wasn't deep at all, it was wide. I checked the roots to see if the plant would take up all the space and she didn't have any problem to spread the roots all around.

o dude for sure..i love growing in 5gallon buckets (tall long ones) it gives the plants lots of root space..i've grown plants in those buckets from start to finish, 2months veg and 2-3months of flower without it getting root bound..got some pics, check em out. The ones i grew in the bucket are Blue Dream and Da Purps

i've been looking into this a lot lately as well, and the only down fall that i've read about is that using skinny narrow containers is that the plant will only grow as wide as its root zone, so if your using a skinny container, your plants are also going to stay skinny as a result.. i didn't believe it for myself, so this last grow i expiremented for myself and planted on in a green tea container that was tall and skinny, and i'll be damned, the plant in it is also tall and skinny.. crazy as hell how that worked out, but sure as shit it did..

well both matter one more then other try try a pot shaped like a block and try a pot shaped like drinking glasss of same volume and you will see diff in plant follos pot

the roots are a reflection of the plant top- volume amount of space taken up close to equal top to bottom -the circumfrence of the circle very close volume top will win

exactly..my buddy grew in a wide ass container, like 4x4 and it filled out the whole container. I've grown in numerous different sized pots and i feel the same way..if u give it the time it needs it will use all the space u give it.

Yeah, you could plant in a star shaped container if you chose to.
Weed likes to root deeply. Taller skinnier containers to save floor space are fine.

OK i said they both matter one carries more weight then the other -size over shape

a pot with a shape like a block -square will produce certain shape plant

a pot that holds same volume as the square pot - but now wit a shape like a water glass-tall and thin

(very broken down)

plants will vary to shape of pots if every thing is the same

i hope you get it - and im very sorry if i did not take the time -im guilty of that -and then spending way to much explaining -

have a good life
