Building a room, have a few questions.

We have a 8x8 or 8x10 room. Panda film the whole thing out. We will be doing deep water hydro system in 5 gal. buckets. How many buckets do you think could fit in a room this size? Also how many lights would you use for veg. and flower? And what wattages, want to keep it on the safe side. We were thinking of doing advanced nutrients for the nutrients, any other recommendations. Our idea is around 20-25 buckets with a couple lights, for vegging we were thinking 4 600w hps lights and for flowering 2 600w and 2 400w. Also are there lights or ballats out there that will use a lot less power so we can have more lights? I have heard of quantom or something like that.

You are talking more light for veg than flower, it should be the opposite. Do you plan to split the room up for a veg room and a flower room? We will say you do for my answer, so you will have 2 4x8 rooms, you could just do 2 1000 watts on each side (or maybe 2 600s on the veg side) and you would be good for light. As far as buckets, that depends more on the size of plants you plan to grow, you could have buckets packed in tight and get a ton of them, or grow huge trees and only have a few buckets, that is up to you.
As far as using a lot less power, no there is none, digitals use a small amount less power, but the difference is not significant.

Sorry forgot to mention this is just a test run, i dont want clones or any cycles. One and done. No need for flowering and veg, we were just going to switch out the bulbs and go for more tree's with less buckets.

What do you mean no cycles ? No need for flower and veg ? A test run is a full grow. If you don't grow it out , what will you learn ?

I don't mean it by being done. Just for the position i'm in right now i need to make some capital and then get to a place where i can have a cycle. Sorry, didn't mean to confuse anyone.

O a one time run, you should really mention that, 600 watters are a big investment compared to 1000 watters, 4 1000's i would just do hps from start to finish, keep overhead down. I would also go soil not dwc, too much equipment to buy and set up just for a single run. If you plan to put it away to use in the future might be worth it, but any air pump worth a shit is expensive.
