How are these baby buds looking?

Hmmm, I am getting conflicting info here. A lot of people said use the HPS for the full life cycle.

HPS is perfect for flowering. MH can be great for veg in large quantities. But for a smaller amount of plants, I think fluorescent is the way to go.

you would be nutz if you see any sex,,, veg them for at least 4 to 5 weeks, then if you want you can sex your plants simply by changing your lighting schedule to 12/12hrs,,,, and even now you shouldnt water daily,, I know they are young but just keep the soil a little damp, then, in a couple of weeks water only every 4 to 5 days or they will get sick and die,, also keep your ph level around 6 to 7 and you will be fine.... have a good grow.........

How close should the HPS light be to the plants? Assuming I water daily of course..


Other than the fact that they looked stretched, how do they look? Do I see male already, or am I nuts?

ha dude 5 inches, WAY TOO close, you should have felt the heat coming off that light. man i feel bad for your plants, they never had a shot at life, get cfl for seedlings, 6500k, they work great.

a 600 watt hps bulb put out 95000 lumens,,a 400watter puts out 55000 lumens,,,,,keep a 600watter about 22" inches above um at first then lower it bit by bit day by day.have a oscilating fan blowing inbetween ya lights and over the tops of ya plants on a gentle setting at first,and mist regulary

So to confirm..

During the germination and veg stage, watering should only be a little dusting to just keep the top soil and leaves moist and that should happen daily? When should real watering begin?

What about the light schedule during the veg stage...I read somewhere that 24hours using the HPS is what to do, but that seems like a lot.

24/7 is fine for veggin. You can use your 600W light for the seedlings. But watch how
close you put it. Start out about 30 in. Watch your seedlings. If they start to stretch,
lower the light.

Thanks, roughly what should the ambient temperature and humidity be in the grow room?

You should really read the growfaq. There is a lot of good information on this site, and it's there for you. Read man read! Will make things much easier and you will avoid potential killers such as leaving your HPS light 5 inches from the plants =p.

yo dude, i gave you some advice back in the day... like last week. If you need some more answers pm me cuz i'm too high to deal with sorting right now haha. Hope the grow is going well... there's one question i remembered... and... oh the seedling, yea take the seed off the plant w/ tweezers if it's stuck on there, delays growth, nasty seeds haha. peace
