Where are all my fellow car fanatics at?!?

What's up everyone.. hope everyone is having a nice relaxed cool stoney weekend.

Anyone else have a passion and love for automobiles?????

Man.. I can't get enough of them. I love driving too so makes my appreciation and love for cars that much more intense. What car have you guys always dreamed of having when you got older? I was born in '82. But I remember being a little guy.. and watching 'Magnum P.I.' on T.v every chance I could get. My other favorite TV show back in the 80's was 'Miami Vice'. That was the fucking BOMB! back in the day.

But, I grew up watching those two shows until they no longer 'aired' them on television... but think about it.. what kind of car was used in each show..?

That's right, Ferrari. There's nothing more.. beautiful than seeing a beautiful Ferrari in real life. Just seeing the stance the car has while parked.. and the beautiful body lines she has.. is just amazing. Perfecto! (few of my friends give me a hard time about wanting to get a Ferrari.. because we're Italians..) That would be classic right?? An Italian driving a handmade Italian car. LOL.. makes sense to me.

But yeah, I have an account (trust fund) that I was blessed with. My mother and father are still around and kicking (which of course.. is good. I love my ma and pa) but they told me that my sister and I.. both each have a Trust Fund (forgot what kind it was called.. the name of it). My sister, she has $250k.. and I have the same in my trust.. but my mother and father put a rule against the trust fund.. to where I can't get into the money until I reach the age of 30 years old. I'm totally fine with that.. and in fact.. I told my ma and pa, that if it wasn't for the fact that I have wanted to have my own Ferrari ever since hearing and seeing the cars on 'Miami Vice' and 'Magnum P.I'.. I wouldn't even really have the need for the money... but they politely responded and said 'well that's fine, but it's there.. your sisters got the same amount in hers as you do.. and it's there whenever and for whatever the two of you might need it for..'

What you guys think though???? Should I invest some of that into purchasing a Ferrari?? eh? I know they're very expensive to keep up with.. and service. But man, to me..it would be worth it.

Also, for all my fellow car enthusiast.. if you have a car that you've always wanted to own.. or dreamed of owning.. feel free to post what that car is.. what kind of car.. and why you've always wanted one.. or why you love that specific model of car!..

I think I'm going to go check out DupontRegistry.com and see how much Ferrari's are going for these days.

I can't afford this one.. even if I had enough money to get one.. and afford to sustain and drive it.. I wouldn't spend the money. I wouldn't pay that much for a car.. that's just me though. $500K for any car.. is enough IMO.

But yeah.. check this beautiful car out.

Here's the spec. sheet for that car:

Engine Type 6.0-liter DOHC 36-valve 65? V12 Displacement cu in (cc) 5988.00 cc | 365.4 cu in Power bhp (kW) at RPM 660.00 BHP (485.8 KW) @ 4800.00 RPM Torque lb-ft (Nm) at RPM 485.00 Ft-Lbs (657.7 NM) @ 5500.00 RPM Redline at RPM 8200 rpm Brakes ABS, vented disc Tires 255/35 ZR20 - 335/30 ZR20 Length 4630.001 mm | 182.3 in Weight 1200 kg | 2646 lbs Acceleration 0-62 mphs 3.5 Top Speed mph (km/h) 225 mph Fuel economy EPA (1/100) n.a. Ford.. :|

'Found on Road Dead'.... no thanks.

but hey everyone has their favorite..

If I had to chose an American made car I would go with Chevrolet. Stock 5.3 Chevy engine will outrun a stock Ford 4.6 or 5.4 ANY day of the week son... I actually have a 2007 Chevrolet (2wheel drive) crew cab (4 door) Silverado. She's got around 84,000.00 miles on her.. but I opted and paid an extra $3,000.00 when I bought it.. for the 6.0 engine option. That 6.0 big block has got some major torque but she's also go a stock HP rating of 400 (400 to 430 HP) at the rear wheels. I think the torque rating was around 450.lbs of torque at 2800RPM. Something close to that anyhow... I would just get off my ass and go and get the window sticker from when I purchased the truck.. but I've got a bad case of 'couch lock' right now. Stoned. Lmao..

But now that I've thought about it.. and started talking about it.. its making me want to go and get the window sticker more and more.. just to see what the actual HP/Trq Specs are for the 6.0 engine.

I bought the mustang, I think I'm gonna save up to buy a 351Windsor for it. the motor is a 1970, it's one of ford's toughest blocks and has a bit of work done to it. just to give you an idea it spent last year under the hood of an 88'stang and ATE almost everything it ran with

Hp/Tq for the 2007 Chevy 6.0:

367 hp @ 5500 rpm
375 tq @ 4300 rpm

My house payment keeps me from playing with any horse power toys for the time being, but my last toy was a 2004 GTO.

Looking to pick up a lightly used 2009 or 2010 Nissan 370z in the next year or so.

And i need a new (to me) truck....thinking 2001-2004 F150 SVT Lightning.

those cars are built for tough lol

right now i have a 73 bus, i towed from Yuma, AZ to Baja, because of the price, 700 bucks , it came with some receipts, 2500 us. dlls invested in rebuilt engine. The only thing i need to chhange is the dual Solex Carbs, because here in baja there are not a lot of people who can fix this porsche based engines (type 4, flat style). I want a Progressive Webber Dual Port to run the engine smoothly to get this baby to roadtrip around baja every weekened without any problem!!

peace out & good vibes

ps. sorry for my english, still working on it jjeje

i have a 1800cc with 93mm Pistons

I also love Jeeps!! i had a black 98 wrangler lifted just 2" with 31's muds
convertible i just loved it!!, but i had to sell it for the gas

i was forced to sell it because ,i was spending 100 bucks a week crossing the SanDiego-Tijuana border daily to work in Mission Beach., and then the same distance from the border to my house.

4.0 inline 6!! i needed to have a gas truck behing me always xD

that new Ferrari is sick... I love Ferrari!

funny I'm also from an Italian family, I think it's in the blood lol

remember if you are getting one they are not only expensive as hell but the service and parts will rape you if you don't have the money for them..

in the meantime I stick with mazda (gotta love the zoom zoom and quality for those prices) and Lotus (like the Elise, best cheap super car you can get) :blsmoke:
also Lamborghini is awesome and the price is not that insane lol..

Dude, Bentley and Ferrari? Really? 6 digit vehicles? Heres a few cars worth having for prolly 1/8 of the price!

INFINITY G35:

NISSAN SKYLINE GTR:

AND MY ALL TIME FAVORITE, SUBARU WRX STI:

Every single one of those can be made to beat the SHIT out of yer ferrari for less than 50 g's. So thats yer power you want. But looks, Iono man, if that's what yer into and can afford it then go for it. I'm all for rare car's, hence the Skyline, but man. The insurance alone is gonna kill ya lol. I personally own a WRX, so I'm kinda biased there. They are just sexy as, awesome handling and fast as shit cars. Plus is has an ass warmer, gotta love that :D

And P.S. Bentley are just "Look at how much money I got" cars. So are ferrari's but at least ferrari's are fast lol

If you can afford a Bentley, or a Ferrari insurance is a trivial point.

i say get a subaru STi or like m3 and mod and tune it and go to the track, whatever you like to do. But save 200k an invest in the market, or start a business. Because you can turn that 200k into 2 million in not very long and then you can actually semi afford a ferrari and the maintenance, i dont know your situation obviously but its always best to save as much as possible becasue of the compounding factor. So i would be disciplined and patient and wait 10 years, might be able to get a nice house and your dream car with money still coming in supporting your lifestyle. My two cents

Ok but i said for 50 grand or less they can be built to beat these things. These are not super cars they are things to waste money on. I gaurantee Any of those 3 cars i posted would beat the crap out of that ferrari 458 sir. Gimmir the car and 30-40,000 and 2 weeks, I'll give you an 8 second quarter mile car :D

Ferrari 458 IS a super car bro...porsche is designing a new super car to compete with it as we speak. but im curious as to what kind of car you would buy and build for 50k that would beat this....the Sti's START at 37k...so another 13k would give you a bigger turbo and enough nitrous to put a piston through the hood...and it would still lose, sorry dude
