Where Is The PROOF That The Conservative Agenda Works?

Austerity? Trickle down? less is more (cutting taxes generate revenue)?

I understand the anecdotal arguments as justifications for these ideas... The problem is that - so far - I've seen no hard evidence to support any of those arguments. So now is your chance...

Where is the proof?

I've heard many times from my father, "Crazy is doing the same thing twice and expecting different results." I've applied that to the conservative agenda.

He still supports the Bush era tax cuts. He's not top 2%. Not even top 10%. He works two jobs pulling in no more than $17.50 between them. It's really too bad.

Where is the proof that is does not work?
Well, now I have to go sifting through my old posts for my sources but...

Conservatives have pointed to Sweden as an example Austerity works - and then a couple of years later in turned out that Austerity didn't help them out of their recovery (it was actually a sizable trade surplus, which was already there without Austerity measures in place).

The "trickle down effect" has been debunked in part by the fact that since 1980 there has been a major redistribution of income towards the top 1% while the median income has remained stagnant (in 1982 the median income was $30,400, prior to the 08 recession the median income was $30,000 - the numbers are adjusted for inlfation of course - meaning no net increase in income for 30 years).

The less is more doctrine of tax cuts leading to generating more revenue via more reciepts has been disproven as well... Most tax cuts have also shown to be inneffective at creating jobs in comparison to stimulus spending when compared in terms of return on investment...

Lets see, what else is there?

I'll think of more.

Oh USA..

We think we are alone in the world can't you tell? :)
LOL yes, we do think we are alone in the world. Quite sad actually... It seems to feed into widespread xenophopia. Tell me Kevin, what do you Canadians think of muslim people? Here in America it's become quite obvious that many people think Muslim=Terrorist.

@Canndo
What is the conservative agenda?
Well, here's part of their agenda: https://www.rollitup.org/politics/423304-paul-ryans-path-prosperity.html

So the conservative agenda revolves around the notion that the source of everything bad in the world is either the poor and disadvantaged or the liberal. Get rid of, or marginalize both and we enter a golden age.

Worst part is, Paul Ryan's plan wont save any money - it will only redistribute it to the wealthy

http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/04/08/3-trillion-here-3-trillion-there/

The Tax Policy institute has pointed out that ALL of the savings and service cuts in Paul Ryan's plan go to the wealthy... Krugman even asserts that in the end this "cost cutting plan" will cost more money - worsening the deficits.

Hmmm xenophobia? There is fear mongering everywhere. But when does immigration mean becoming American or Canadian and not just move here and do whatever you want. Never embrace our beliefs but demand our rights.
I love immigrants and people from all corners of the planet but mainly the ones that accept "I came to north America because I want the freedom and the way of life that is offered there".
But don't ask me to get into it because 1. Ima bout to blaze and 2 im Canadian lol

What is it about the wealthy that is so attractive to conservatives? How have conservatives been hoodwinked into acting and voting and thinking against their own best interests? I find it forever fascinating that they can follow these bankrupt ideas Merrily, confidently all the way to their own doom. When it is pointed out that their ideology doesn't work they will tell you that it just hasn't gotten enough time. When their leaders are pointed out to be misdirecting them, why, they aren't REAL conservatives and a REAL conservative would make things right. I have talked to hundreds of them. They will disregard numbers, history, logic, reason, charts, graphs and common sense. They will compartmentalize, and sabotage their very own arguments in order to cling to this series of ideas. Worst of all, because many of them cannot offer a cogent explanation for their ideas it becomes evident that they were inherited in the first place.

They are afraid of death so the hoard things to cope.

For if we all embraced the impermanence of life we would all abandon property for a Garden of Eden type of planet and encourage all our people to achieve in their lives.
