it looks like your off to a good start, im geting mix feeling on weather to just keep the ph at 5.5 or just wait till roots show then
ph to 5.5. Ive always just gone 5.5 from the start. your ppm come out of the tap at 350? guess that dont leave much room for
adding light nutes. hope this one goes well for you serapis

I sense clones in your future serapis. Think you got it nailed this time.
Thanks! I hope so... I even quit giving the plant N about 5 days ago.

Thanks brother! :) I appreciate the words.... My tap water sucks, but it has no bacteria, lol, the chlorine level coming out is almost dark enough on my tester to be a 1.0 and you can smell it. I only added one tsp of 0.08% IBA rooting hormone powder. Hormodon #2 . I have no intention of adding nutes until I have roots about 4" long. If I get 80% success I'll be happy. It'll mean I'm on my way to perpetual harvesting.

After some careful consideration, I think I'll start adding drops of bleach to my RO storage containers when I fill them. The filtration process removes all chlorine and metals, leaving the water pretty much inert. However, organisms, fungi, bacteria and the like are all around us.... This water, untreated can allow a bacteria infestation to go unchecked. I use big blue BPA free plastic water containers to store my RO water in. I'm thinking I'll start adding a 1/4 tsp of bleach to each one when filling and storing.

I removed the ebb & Flow MicroGarden from the nursery as it had nothing in it. I think it'll become a flowering table in about 3 weeks. It has 8 5" square pots that will handle 8 of the best clones. I plan to veg the clones for about a week or two. that leaves me with potentially 22 clones. If that happens, I'll have to cull down to about 16. That will be a very hard day in my life. As of this minute, not a single sign of wilt on the new cuttings. The PH is stable.
Thanks for reading, feel free to post up any topic. This thread is not dedicated to any one particular thing. I do ask that you keep it related to growing the herb... :)

Hey Serapis so glad to hear that things are turning around for you, I really enjoy this thread.:) Would you mind if I posted some pics later and got your input? I have 4 WW, look healthy but severly curled under. And 3 bagseed that are going outside that look a little stressed. My husband and I go back and forth abt possible causes lol, would love your 2 cents!

Here's a little info to go along with the pics, sorry for the poor quality. I'm excited to get your input and maybe even confirm what I've been screaming this whole time lol. ;)

The bagseed is 3 wks old
Under 600w HPS, 77 degrees 37% RH
Ph 5.8, PPM 900

The WW is 12 days old
Under 400w HPS, 79 degrees 36% RH
Ph 5.8, PPM 290

Water is RO and nutes we have are:
GH Flora Nova Grow
GH Flora Nova Bloom
GH Liquid KoolBloom Bulking Formula
Humbolt Countys Own Bush Master
GH Rapid Start Rooting Enhancer
GH Flora Blend
GH Flora Shield
GH Diamond Nectar
Floralicious
Botanicare Cal Mag Plus
Superthrive

Thought Id throw the nutes in there in case there was something we maybe shouldn't use or something we need to add. Anyways thanks for any advice in advance and for letting me post in your thread!:)

Yeah, I tested my tap a few days ago and the ppm were a little over 130 and the pH was at 7.1 anyone know how much the pH will drop when I start with nutes???

It's going to depend on the nutrients. If they are good and have buffers in them, as most do, the plant should be able to control the PH just fine as long as you dial in the nutrients and are giving the plant what it is asking for. I rarely have to adjust PH in the waterfarms while using Flora Nova Bloom.... When I was custom mixing to avoid adding N before taking cuttings, my PH went way down, in the 4's....

Sounds good, yeah I bought some Flora Nova Bloom after reading through Scotty's infamous thread. Hey bro have you updated any pics of your ladies lately?

Thanks for sharing the pics and information. :)

In pic 7, I think I see a possible Calcium shortage. I think 900 may be too high as well. Does the reservoir maintain that ppm overnight or does it go up or down? A plant that size I would have at or around 400 ppm. I would also be very careful with some of those products you listed. I'm not at all familiar with them. I'm familiar with the Flora Nova series and the Cal-Mag. I'm beginning to lean towards only using SuperThrive during propagation or transplants, as recent studies I've read show great results for those events, but that's about it.

On the Ebb and flow or flood table, I'd use empty pots with hydro to cover the water and the bottom of the tray, or you'll end up with algae. Hydro in those pots should be above the water line to prevent algae. Is this your first grow in the DWC buckets? What kind of temps do you have in the reservoirs?

You have a nice set up and you'll grow some nice buds.

I posted some pics yesterday of my two ongoing projects. :) SCOTTY is the bomb ain't he? His method is so easy to follow... I try to persuade people to give Flora Nova Bloom a go as their sole nute when they are new to hydro growing.
