Hell All.
I felt I should post this in case some of you are in the same situation my wife and I are in. We live in a 2 bedroom town house and devoted the 2nd bedroom closet to our grow area... Actually the whole room is the "Girls Room" but we leave the closet open for ventilation purposes. We are perfectly set up for 12/12 uninterrupted darkness. However, there are things in the "Girls Room" that we need access to during the day. We have the lights off during the day because there's been an early east coast summer heat wave and the heat and humidity are BRUTAL.
So, we are fully aware that the girls don't respond to Green Light at all -- it's the only part of the spectrum they don't use, that's why they are green. SO since they dont recognize it we figured switching out our regular standard incandescent light bulbs that we use to just illuminate the room normally with 13 Watt Green CFL's would allow us to have light while we need to navigate in their room during the darkness period. I am almost POSITIVE that these Green CFL's dont give off any other spectrum but the GREEN part so I don't think we are going to give them light stress or risk turning them male or hermi.
I haven't found out any scientific information or proof that this will turn the plants male or hermi. So, i'm pretty sure we got a fool proof way to let us do what we have to do in that room and not disturb our girls!
If anyone has any positive proof that we are wrong, please post it here and let us know. THANKS!!
