I hate to leave myself - at the moment I'm sitting on the 10th floor of a decent dump of a hotel in Anchorage & true to the old Alaskan axiom, "The best thing about Anchorage is that you can see Alaska from it". AKA Los Anchorage.
The outdoor oportunities are endless & I like to kind of push the envelope when it comes to semi-extreme hunting/fishing/4-wheeling experiences . . . you get the idea.

How much water is in that country? Here I can get a drink pretty much anywhere without worrying too much about giardia and such.
Do you get many lions in your area?

This is the view from my 2nd floor balcony. The 3rd floor has an even better view but its a mess up there right now as I'm redoing the floors. Unfortunately the view just to the left is even better but they're are numerous historical landmarkers.

Hey GWN, we moved back in feb, and now we have an even better view! I'm going to wait till the trees really bloom to snap a pic. We have a 12 foot deck coming off the kitchen...I loooooove the view. Most of came in but I really want to just wait. This will be my first to see it as well! So hopefully here in a couple weeks ill come back to this thread!

@coco: I bet you get a real good feeling while looking at that view. Theres something crazy spiritual going on when you look at mountains...you feel so small.

Bass, pike, perch, and sunfish....but I mainly go for the bass and have pulled a 6.5 pounder just to the left of the picture

No, only large mouth in this one but I do have like 4-5 lakes around here now with smallmouth too, I love catchin them.....fishin isnt too hard man I usually just get as ripped as possible and cast to every piece of shoreline cover I can

The real name of that rock is Tse Bit'a'i which means Winged Rock. To white folks it's known as Shiprock. The water in the rivers is fine. The name of the area where I live is called Totah which means, Three Rivers. The Animas, San Juan, and La Plata rivers converge here. So we have plenty of water. I'd stay away from stagnant pools. They carry dangerous bacteria or contain alkali. We have a lot of cougars here. Not long ago I was out for a walk with my mom and we saw a cougar cross the road from our property and dart down to the river. It was huge. We have the occasional bobcat and even chased off a bear that was trying to get into our chicken coop.

I won't go into the bigfoot sightings.
