Can cops get a warrant just because of a high electricity bill? I live in la, do you think the electric company would report a high bill?

if they suspect you of growing, they might check your bills so they can have evidence to obtain a warrant, BUt they aren't gonna come just because you have a high bill.

It's really quite difficult to get busted on an electricity bill. Another thread prompted me to have a look at my kettle. 2200w for a cup of tea. I know that my parents have the kettle boiling almost around the clock due to anyone and everyone always drinking tea. THen you think about computers, hair dryers, heaters, fridges, washing machines, ovens etc.

I have the card but legally you're allowed 12 plants. 6 flowering and 6 vegging. I was planning on hooking up 3 extra 1000whps so 4 total plus a a/c and fans.
Well if I was you I would just grow 12. Why try and grow more then allowed? I also have my card I would hope you would do the right thing and not wreck it for everyone else. But as for the law if your doing it illegally all they will do is take all your shit and tell you do it by the law next time. No tickets nothing, but you dont get to keep your lights and everything that was meant for growing. I know someone who had this happen here in michigan. So good luck m8

just pay your bills and they will be happy. they will not get a warent for a high bill. they dont know what your running could be a few tvs speaker amps fridge whatever

if your a company and your product is electricity, why would you turn in the people with the highest bills? provided you pay it and don't steal it, you should be fine. as stated before, there only going to look at it if your already under investigation.

pretty much what everyone else said. your electric bill by itself is not probable cause. it becomes probable cause only if they have other shit on you and can convince a judge to issue a warrant. you can lower your bill by replacing every bulb in your house with the lowest watt cfl you can stand, setting stuff to power save mode, not leaving the tv on, taking shorter showers, shit like that. it really does add up quick if you're vigilant about it. i have a much smaller grow, just a 400w hps and a 360w t5 fixture and about 5 fans, but my bill is actually lower after starting my grow just because i went apeshit with the household bulbs and appliances. also try having your lights on period during off peak times, like overnight. off peak use is billed at a lower rate.
