Feeding Multiple Times per Week to Increase Yield?

So to start let me explain my situation...

My last grow was organic, using recycled soil from last grow boosted with mycorrhizae. I used General Orgnincs Cold pressed Squid, Bloom and Molassas during the flower period. Only vegged for 2 weeks. Used 1000w HPS Bulb. 22 plants, only yielded 7.8oz. Terrible. Quality was amazing, though. Looked beautiful, tasted and smelt wonderful. But yield was disgusting..

I talked to my pops, an outdoor highly experienced grower who told me I should be feeding at least three times per week.

How do you do this without over watering? I used 5gal worth of water per feeding once a week, and watered once a week as well.. If I fed 3x per week, that amount of water would flood them!

Can you concentrate a dose of food or will this hurt your plants? This time around I am vegging for 4 weeks and am using GOs Squid, Bloom, Bio Bud Booster and Seaweed as well as Co2 in hopes of improving yield a bit...

But how do you feed that often without over watering/burning the plants???

All suggestions/comments would be awesome!! Thanks!!!

basically the plant eats when the medium goes from wet to dry. the more times the medium dries the more the plant will eat and the higher metabolism it will have. Don't over feed. Don't go pouring food into wet medium, that will just oversaturate the minerals. Most people alternate feeding with just plain watering or sugary/carbohydrate microbe brews

You can do this, just takes a different strategy.

Never used those nutes, so I won't comment, but I can use Earth Juice as an example.

You can use EJ with every watering simply by cutting the amount down so it is more like a tea than a feed. Like using 1tsp/gallon, 3x/week rather than 1tbl/gallon, 1x/week.

Use a somewhat smaller pot and/or a lighter mix so that it dries out in 2 days rather than 5.

You're right, if you try and feed 3x/week in a container/mix than needs 5 days to dry out, you will seriously overwater.

You could also amend your soil so that the weekly feedings are more like a nosh than the only source of food. This is what I do. I'm lazy.

Wet ...has some great information, as always! What I use to get more wateringw/ nutes in during flowering & I can use my www.bountea.com, is soilless med. 1 Bag Sunshine mix #4 w/2 bags Fox farm Light seed warrior, Mix toghether real good & waa laa. I, first @ transplant into flowering water w/ nutes & super thrieve...Then hit them next water with tea. Then wait for them to soak it up & wait til they start to dry then Start my Week #1 on feed schedule ...I usually have to water every 2-3 days... I also foliar spray w/ magic green every other week... as directed, Oh I use House & Garden. My plants love it. Peace & Happy Gardening.
