Exactly! We already have a decay of morals in this country and children are already exposed to enough raw violence on TV as it is... I can't believe a grown man in America would even make such a remark without thinking of others; but as I said, a decline in values and morals across the land...

I'm pretty sure you already have your two options, at least two. There is broadcast tv of which you speak, then there is cable, satellite, even the internet.

5 year olds shouldnt be watching shows with cussing to begin with. and parents that dont care, and allow their kids to watch those kinds of things, usually cuss in their daily lives anyways
yes, and cable is even censored. only the movie channels like HBO and showtime allow cussing/nudity.
i believe that television could be considered a form of art. people are creating shows to entertain people. if they cant really express themselves fully because of censorship, i feel thats wrong. just like radio - why do i have to pay extra money to get sirius in order to hear some vulgar stuff? like howard stern(see, its not all bad!)

The broadcast spectrums have been deemed to be assets of the people. So, you have to be licensed to use them. In order to get a license, you have to show that you will use the airwaves for the common good. You could argue that the artistic freedom of which you speak is for the common good, but most people would not agree. And, since it is an asset of the people, you lose that argument.

There is no shortage of vulgar tv out there. If you're not finding it, you don't know how to look. There's this new hip thing called the internet. If used as directed, it could positively provide you with the content you speak of. It's a fraction of the price, without all the ads.

i was in germany. ... germany, you know, the home of the nazis, and not the home of the brave, and i was watching tv in my hotel room, and half of the commercials on normal tv during day hours had naked women in them.. did i go out and rape the lady in the room next to me after watching the ads?? well, yes, but i was going to do that before i saw the commercials, lol.. joke.. i just found it amazing that in germany, naziland, they have more freedom's than we do here in the land of the free... people here just don't realize how censored we really are.. look at all the nonesense that occoured over janet jackson's tittie popping out during the super bowl.. its fine to watch two hours of men beating the shit out of each other and ads for budweiser one after the other, but heaven forbid we actually see someone's tit.. holy effing shit.. the worlds going to end..

Over the air? Not much without commercials, I'm afraid. There is public broadcasting, of course...which ironically shows a lot of BBC stuff lol. The broadcast networks will occasionally have an premiere event where there is little or no commercial interruption. Few and far between though.

You people should try cable TV with channels like HBO, STARZ, Comedy Channel, Skinamax, etc... We have plenty of filth of vulgarity to please satan himself on TV, why must it be on every channel? To make you feel free and democratic? Give me a break, and let the kids have some TV space as well.

You should have an option to be able to be offered uncensored versions...probably would be at a premium like 5 or 10 extra a month. But not having the option really is bullshit. If your a good parent your kids shouldn't be watching that shit anyway.
