I need some tips to improve my grow cabinet. Please take a look

Hi guys,

I've spent countless hours reading and learning from the site and have gotten my first grow underway.

A couple of issues i have...

1. Even though my exhaust fan has a silencer it is still to loud. The noise seem's to be coming from the air being pushed through my carbon filter. Can i do anything about this?

2. As you can see my cupboard has plenty of light leaks. Is this a problem? Best way to fix/close these?

3. The temp in the cupboard is usually between 28 and 32 degrees celcius (82 - 90f). I have to leave my a/c on all day and evening to stop my room from becoming a sauna as the air coming out of my carbon filter is quiet warm. Placing the filter outside isn't an option.

I'm using a 600w light and have a separate fan inside the box pushing air around and across my plant.

Yeah the filter goes in the box. Alot of fan noise is caused by restrictions in air flow. If its still loud then you might need a bigger intake.

When i bought the carbon filter it was set up to be in the cupboard but once i explained to the hydro store guy that it needed to be on the outside he was like no worries, just a matter of switching the fan around so it drags the air out as opposed to pushing it out. I'm surprised you guys are saying the filter has to be in the cupboard. I thought it could be either way and didn't really matter. What about all the people who put them in their roof or in their attic's?

edit - the fan I'm using is very powerful and has no problem dragging out plenty of air. I'm surprised theirs a heat issue. Will consider switching to a cool tube if i can't find a solution soon. Money is tight though

Nice set up man, looks great. I just helped my friend set up his own tent at his new place last weekend. Cant remember the exact dimensions but it was roughly 3 times the size. Only paid $400 for it too.
