Fake strain names...

Ok well this really pisses me off. All too often I come across people selling their "finest" herb with ridiculous strain names that are clearly made up to promote their goods. My most recent pickup was named "Juicy Fruit" that smelled very strongly of bubble gum and had clearly been treated with some sort of flavoring or spray. The bud was slightly damp and once it dried out the smoke was so harsh it was almost unbearable.

I called bullshit on the guy (who I know) that sold it, and he had no idea what I was talking about. He truly believed it was real. Also, I find that around here, if someone doesn't know the name of the strain, it automatically becomes kush!

So what are some of the most ridiculous names you have heard or things people have done to enhance the bag appeal of bud?

there is a juicy fruit strain as is there one named fruity juice from sensi.. i think the fruity juice one sounds retarded personally, but hey..

but yah, i hate it when people make up names to try and make the bud sound better than what it is.. they should just stick to terms like kb or kine bud, as you can never really go wrong with terms like those so long as the bud is dank..

Juicy Fruit is a very real strain.

BC SeedKing Juicy Fruit

Grew it for a while and it was well worth it. Nice yields, never once had a pest, and was extremely easy to grow. Nice smoke.

But any strain, no matter the name or genetics, if the grower doesn't flush it properly at the end of harvest and/or fails to dry and cure it properly.........it's gonna be harsh.

But I agree with the OP in that everyone seems to call everything kush. Even long lanky, clearly sativa dominant buds.
