Damn School Board Puppets

Ok, a while back I posted something about my son getting into a some trouble for going to school high and admitting he sold some on the way to school one day. Now, I dont condone him or any kid smoking weed and going to school. I do have problems with that. But what is done is done.

Now, he had a school board hearing and he got expelled. Ok fine, he screwed up and he must now pay the consequences.

Now, after a 10 day suspension he was allowed to return to school but he had to spend those days in detention before his school board hearing.

During this hearing, all I heard was all that government bullshit rhetoric, gateway drug, very dangerous etc. It is known that he stole it from me. So, the more and more I heard this rhetoric the more it pissed me off. I looked at the board and asked them point blank, "when do you suppose I am going to walk through that gateway?" Mind you, the last illegal hard drug I did was when I was 17 and it was coke, which I have only done twice in my life. But I have been smoking weed off and on for the last 20 years. HMMMM... Now, to them it is quite evident I smoke. They dont know why or how much I smoke. But, their reaction was obvious, I am a very bad parent. To be quite honest, I really do not give a shit who knows I smoke anymore. I am about ready to run up and down the street announcing it to everyone.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that they are treating this like it was an act of terrorism. He gets caught - fine, he talks to much - fine, he says he stole it from me - fine, they send him to the bad boy school - not so fine, they are pressing charges for PI - well maybe/not fine. My lord, they are throwing the book at this kid for one little mistake. Again, I do not condone what he did, but sheesh this just seems a bit harsh.

I did get irate with the board. But all in all, I told them to quit repeating government rhetoric and to do their own research. They know I smoke. I told them they are puppets and they need to take the red pill, and that blew their minds.

I am still waiting to hear from the court, I know its coming. Any one have any ideas on what is in store for me next?

I agree with you 100% . When i was in middle school i was blown every fucking day.....and i got caught.....got put on probation for 2 years over it because i had a pipe on me and kicked out of school for a year....not a smart decision at all to go to school high.

Man, I hear you. Between this BS and the BS regarding doctors giving my daughter BC pills when she never asked for them and saying I dont have a right to know. This shit is really pissing me off. I have no problems at all in raising a stink. Once when I was in the Navy, I wrote my congressman a letter that basically put my CO on report with congress, he had to answer directly to them.

I have no problems at all in writing letters to every damn paper in the nation and if anyone wants to help me write the letters to include hard facts I would be willing to add that to it. But you know, I am at my breaking point. I think I have finally de-programmed and I think I see the light fully now.

Thanks, I will check those out. I have a distinct feeling that I will be hearing from family services soon or at least after the court hearing. Luckily, I do have an acquaintance down at the county attorneys office. With the board knowing I smoke and my son got the weed from me, think that is enough to get a warrant? I am debating about taking my op down or not(2 plants), but along the same lines I also can say I really dont care either. But....

I give major props man to stickin it to them, I have myself battled the close-minded vigilantes with the facts of marijuana. However, for alot of people, the curtain of shame the media and government has cast over pot has an them refusing to acknowledge blantent facts. We all know this, so what to do?

I don't want to unintentionally disarm you from what I'm about to say, keep your guard up but I think nothing will come out of it as far as them investigating you. You were not under oath when you spoke to the board, you can pretty much tell them to shove it up their ass and that you are going to another school. But that is mind-blowing that they will expell him for that, I had a kid in my class that dealt weed to the whole school basically and an under-cover cop posing as a senior got him but he wasn't expelled. (this could be because he wasn't caught on school grounds cause thats a whole new ball game)

Which brings me to my question, did he have any substance on him on school grounds? That could be a factor into admitting him to another school.

Social Services usually go for the sexually or physically abusive family's primarily, or if they feel the child is endangered. I'm not a lawyer man but if I was to part any advice it would be that if you were under investigation (which again I doubt but it could happen) that you might set aside your pride and condemn weed. I know thats not pleasant to hear because if everyone rolls over then ignorance and blind prejudice would reign, but it would be for the kid. Think of whats important.

Again, I think the chances of them hunting you down are unlikely, but worst case scenario the kid is taken from you you could go through some bullshit parenting counseling and whatnot to redeem yourself, they eat that up.

I know its frustrating, the backwards mentality they express. But for most people out there, they have the best interest at heart, they just don't know any better from what the propaganda told them. Fight the good fight, but only on your expense.

But good job at standing up for what's right. I like how you laid it out for us too, what they did (good) what they did (not so good) it's true people fok up, people are delt with per case. He didn't give the other kid a QP did he?! Then... I could see something heh ya know?! But damn they are harsh on the kid. Way to stand up for him though, (uhg sohi daddy speech) Just make sure he knows Why you stood up for him ya know... either tell him something like you love him and give him the don't get pushed around or belittled by anyone of any power, golden rule type deal... or tell him about your convictions on why weed is okay when used smart... but IDK how old he is, how mature he is... but I would save the last speech for high school at least... He'll need the first one if he goes do a BD type school (behavior disorder)

Yeah, you obviously must be that shallow not to realize that the main distrust for marijuana is because it is widely believed to be unhealthy and cause for concern over your mental stability. People want to help remedy you of your horrible habits. Your the dingleberry if you believe that they are all out to get you just cause they want to ruin your fun.

I'm talking people here, not the government. The only reason pot is illegal is purely political reasons but to the average person out there they believe what they hear on the media and feel the cause to help you through interventions and rehab.

So next time someone frowns cause they hear you do pot its because they feel concern for you. Don't be immature.

Well, with some assistance from a member of this forum, which I graciously thank. I am going to stir the pot up(no pun intended). I am going to go public, to certain extents and with proper caution.

I am just curious as to what happened to the other boy that my son sold it to. Because technically speaking its the other boy that actually had it in his possession at school, my son sold it on the way to school. He did not have anything in his possession other than a stinky cigarette box. The funny thing about the whole thing is that he only took enough to roll one joint, he sold it for 20 bucks. He may make a good salesman one of these days. I know its not really funny but it does has some humor in it.

Oh, the board hearing was very formal, they did swear us in and it was video taped, I was hoping they would say "so help you god". I was just dying to tell them I dont believe in god. But that was not part of the swearing in speech.

As I walk through this process I will undoubtedly end up in the public eye. What concerns me the most is what the judge is going to do. I know the judge will bring me to the carpet for having it to begin with, but I will deal with that when I get there.

Nevertheless, I will piss a lot of people off in the process and I will be all up in their face the whole time, after I figure out which path I need to take.

I totally support you in takin this further. i dont think that taking it further and just looking like another "pot head" in there eyes is gonna do much, but there are definitly constructive ways to go about doin this. your best bet is to probally fight more for the penalty and the severity of how they punished your son instead of how it should be legalized. i say this because if u want respect in the eyes of the average public your best bet is to look like a concerned parent instead of someone whos just fightin for weed
