My 5 month old Sylvania 400w MH lamp blew this morning in my veg box. I moved the 400w horti MH over from the flower box, and wow, I will be going replacing the sylvania with a horti for sure. Luckily I have a barely used 400w horti super hps, so i flipped the ballast and put that in my flower box for now. I will run to the grow shop before they close and grab a 400w MH horti so I can put the super hps back on the shelf, and I am going to grab a spare 600w lamp for when that one decides to blow.

I also threw the wembley into a #3 smart pot and am not sure how good the smart pots will be for my CCOB cage technique. Pics later today or tomorrow.

Oh, and I found out that I am STILL giving them too high of a pH. My pro-mix is soil-less and from my research last night I should be pHing my water/nutes down to 6.0 - 6.3. I hope this explains some of my deficiency issues. I am planning to remove all the humboldt supplements from my nute soup and go back to using the full GO line, + hygrozyme, + Oregonism and Guano. Hopefully that will help my deficiency issues and I can try some individual test plants later with and without the supplements.

i used a soil less mix once and i thought to water with a lower ph as well and then i had probs, so i went down to talk to my buddy at the hydro shop who recommended the soil less and i asked him what to ph it to and hes said the same as soil.

some strains will prefer different ph levels though you might have one that thrives at 6.5 but another one that hates it and a simple increase or decrease in ph can help it

Thx. The GO nutes typically pull my 8.5pH tap water down to 6.3 - 6.8 during the later veg and early flower weeks, so I don't need to adjust them much. In the early veg and late flower though things can start out pretty far off.

I have only had the pH meter a month or so, and hoped it would help these issues I see in mid and late flower, but my wonder woman is already showing signs of problems and I am not sure why or what it is (she did have to deal with 30+ days of way too high pH as a baby). I think I have had, and may have again, some rust fungus and possibly still have thrips from the clones. I am going to have to do some research this weekend and try to sort out these issues to keep my plants happier and healthier.

My LSD's first single fan leaf is yellowing also, so she got a couple tablespoons of guano with her week 2 veg nutes. Apparently I should have started her on nutes a lot sooner than I did all the earlier seedlings that are in veg. I usually dont see deficiency issues until weeks 2 - 4 of flower.

Just hauled the new lamps and 18 gallons of RO water downstairs to discover my flower box has been on 24/0 for the last 4 - 6 days. :wall:

I had to unplug one of the ballasts in flower from the timer temporarily the other day, and I moved the bypass switch slightly without realizing it. I thought the ones in mid-late flower looked rather stringy and the one at 7 weeks in the SSCROG wasnt filling out. Now I know why. :dunce:

Me too, considering I cant afford to buy any meds after spending $170 for lamps and $90 for water/jugs tonight.

Yep, I have no choice. I will just let them go a bit longer if necessary. With a 1 plant every 2 weeks schedule, I cant afford any major gaps.

On the bright side, I am going downstairs to trim the first chronic. It smells amazing after almost 6 days hanging.

I also transplanted my wembley to a #3 smart pot today and she will be trained for flowering in a day or 2 and moved into flower a day or 2 later, even if that means putting 6 plants in flower again for now. I need to try and make up for the short-fall in yield the 24/0 will cause.

I got some epsom salts to blast everyone with and hopefully the RO water will be worth the cost in the coming months. If so, I will be installing a RO system this spring/summer.

ETA: I am really kicking myself now for having the remote temp/hygrometer in the drying room (that never changes) instead of the flower room. I would have noticed from my desktop if the temp in flower wasn't dropping like normal at night.

Dude that sucks bro, about the lights.

hope it all turn out fine!!
Yep, first time, and hopefully last time that ever happens.

* Remote sensor must be in flower room always, so I can monitor temps from upstairs.

* I need to go down after lights out occasionally to be sure timers are working, especially if my remote sensor is setup elsewhere, instead of worrying about the possible minor light leaks of opening the laundry room.

* I need to get at least one 4x4 tent, so I can move my flower room and not worry about light leaks.

I am so pissed about that timer screw up. :wall:

It should be interesting to see how the 2 in mid-flower finish. They are sorta tall and leafy buds now and I can physically see the new vegetative growth on the top of the buds. Hopefully it wont affect the wonder woman too much but she is already starting to show major Mg deficiencies. Everybody is getting epsom salts added to their nutes when ready for feedings and I am only using RO water now. I spent $90 for 6 x 3ga jugs (that will be cheaper to refill obv) last night.

Yikes bro RO water is expensive still.

I use tap and usually run a little high in PH but as long as i let it sit out i really dont have a problem, i always add 1 tablespoon of epson salt per gallon just for shits and giggles, and i have never had a def.

Letting it sit out won't remove the Chloramine in my water. The epsom salt would help to counteract it (and I should have been using it all along), but I think I would rather use good water and quit using epsom salt (hopefully) once I get them all treated for the deficiency. If the RO water works well I will buy a RO filter system and get it plumbed in to the laundry room this summer.

damn figured with your setup you had it already.. I will tell you this THEY ARE SO WORTH EVERY CENT. only down side is the time it takes to produce the water.

Ya i know what you mean i want a RO system badly, I knwo with RO water you need to add something in it, but i can remember is it Epson salt also?

thats easily solvable with a 50gal. rubbermaid tote and a float valve.

lol yeah i know this i was just point out that it still takes time is all and you want to add Cal/Mag to RO water
