am i the only one who buries air stones under a layer of nice crushed quartz?
Mine grow crazy fast with lots of air. Your should too!I just ordered a Actice Aqua 8.5 in stone like you got Hairy and a 70LPM commercial pump to push it. So with the upgrade to a good pump and stone from my two Top Fin air pumps I am hoping to get alot more bubble action out of the setup.

go to a craft shop get some of those glass marbles, then at walmart get a pack of those anklet girls hose "like the bottom feet of panty hose. Put some marbles in and lay them over the stones.
I dont want things hiding under the marbles, etc. I just bouight those heavy 8.5" round airstones and they should do the job.seems like a layer of quartz or rocks or anything like that would be a pain in the ass to clean out during rez changes. U could change the water but dirt and other stuff would be bedded within the layer. I'd rather get some heavy stones and not have to worry about anchoring them down with anything. that way you don't restrict the air or bubble flow at all. IMO
