why is my stem like this?

my plant first sprouted out the ground on Feb. 16....it stretched and its not as big as it looks since it fell and i replanted with the stem lower..and this is what it looks like now..why is my stem red..i believe its stressed?


and how is my set up? thats as good as it can get? i got the cfl real close and the right lamp(not on at the moment in the pic)

idk the type i got..its just a seed from one of the dubs i have bought in the past..

not sure really im a newbie maybe its the strain or maybe a nute prob but like i said im a newbie so dont take my word for it. hope you get better help soon.....good luck man

reddish hue is normal to my knowledge (which is little) purple and brown are problems from what i have read on

but others will chime in shortly

looks okay. Just dont give it too much water.

I cant tell from you pic but is your light like only 1/2 inch away? If so that is too close. Id move it to about 2-3 inches away for now. 1/2 inch will fry your seedling

its about an inch....that light is a cfl and doesnt give off heat..but will do..

my stems get purpleish like that when its too cold for them at any point, its no biggie really, maybe stunts them slightly, but they always recover.

your stems on those look weak though, get a osscilating fan on them 24/7 to encourage stem development, otherwise your plants will have a hard time supporting all the buds and foliage.

keep the CFL at 1", 3" is too far, alot of the lumen diminishes. the closer the better. with CFL as long as it ISNT touching your leafs, then its never to close. if it touches them it will completely burn them.
