the box seems to be running 3-5* cooler without the fan on the inside.
interesting...
You're right in the sense, there homer. I've tinkered a lot with this and have come to several conclusions. one being, yes you can aim fans at the CFL and it WILL lower the temps @ the bulb about 2-5 degrees depending on fan, and push power. Secondly, by doing this, i've found that it raised total ambient temperature about the same degrees in the whole room. I think this idea would work great if you need to get your CFLs closer, without doing a whole lot of damage. Make sense?that's interesting... it might have to do with where your fans are pointing maybe? i'm pointing mine straight at the cfls, and i *think* it's brining temps down by a deg or 2. ideally i think i would want to aim the fan *up* at the cfl's, so the hot air goes up instead of sideways/down toward the plants, but can't quite arrange it in my box that way.
Another thing i looked at was air pressures. For you to have a good 70-75* temps in any room, you need the right amount of negative and positive pressures working in constant harmony. Ideally, you want a tad more exhaust than intake. But have a wider intake than your exhaust. Am i still making sense? Correct any of this if i'm wrong. But i do a LOT of my tinkering by trial and error with what i see.
In another room.. Those are looking nice homer! Plant 3 is a cute lil' fucker ain't she? about 7, maybe 8 inches tall? Adorable.
