Pink Film Stuck To Reflector :( nooooo

hi guys im "We Tarded" and new here but i grow pot like you guys . LONG LIVE THE GANJA, LONG LIVE THE GANJA..... YEAAAAAHHHHHH. SMOKE POT ALL DAY EVERYDAY.... ok....... i guess that was my grand entrance..

ya so anyways heres my problem, i got a reflector from htg and i was so excited to use it, i plugged it in without first taking the pink film off the shiny reflector....... did i introduce myself yet? HELLO my name is "We Tarded" lol anyways i was able to take off 90% of the pink stuff because i noticed a funny smell coming from the room and unplugged it after about 45 mins of use.

so do you guys have any idea how i can remove the rest of the pink film that is stuck on the reflector? ohh btw the pink stuff is stuck to a pebble hammered removable "insert" that came from an easy cool 6" reflector.

Do you think that i can just plug the light/reflector back in and not worry about any more problems? any suggestions are welcome! Did i introduce myself? my name is "We Tarded".... ya thanks guys, any posts are wecome!

Use a heat gun, it will heat the plastic right up and you can peel it off. There used to take stickers and tar off of glass..etc

hey thegardenman i appreciate your reply. i know im coming off as an ass but im just trying to have some fun. anyways i dont have a heat gun but i do have a 1500w blow drier and i will use that and let you know how it goes.

anyways i aslo read on another thread that you were posting on. about knowing if your giving your plants enough nutes or over ferting. you said something like "if you have x amount off tds to start with, then when you res goes down and you still have x for tds than you have the correct balance of nutes that your plants need at that time." i thought that was brilliant and made great sense to me. but then after giving it more thought i was wondering if you ment only(.... idk how to say this,) "air tight" solution systems. let me clarify, i dont think that you can deem that applicable to a flood and drain system where there is alot of evaporation going on. but def to a "closed circuit" aeroponics, dwc, or nft system. idk, just my humble thoughts on that, i could be wrong. it was a great read though and i thank you my friend for it.

I'd be very surprised if you get it off. Take the aluminum insert out and bend it backwards and put it back in upside down if all else fails.

hey thats a really really good idea. i didnt even think about that... but thanks to you im going to try that..... hopefully if wont split, but aluminum is very malleable right? too bad i dont have a sheet metal brake, thingy.

ok the progress with the torch was rather successful btw. i simply heated up the pink stuff with the torch and whiped if off with a damp rag... there is still some shyt on there but not 1/10 as much as their was. the 1/10 stuff that is left is just some dirty residue. i think this stuff might be left because, A i didnt work it as much as i could have, B i used some steel wool after the hair drier try, or c the combo of a and b or something else.

im now going to try and bend the insert around and hope fully things will be good that way... +1 rep to smokerE for the great suggestion. i love u guys!

i just looked at the back side of the alum insert and noticed the smalled purple hue in it. it def doesnt have that same pink film on the back side, so is that small purple hue ok? should i just use it how it is and not bend it? i am much obliged to you guys helping me.. WHOOOOOOO YEAH
