Natural 12/12 cycle

I live in a place with a natural 12/12 light cycle. Does this mean I have to stimulate the flowering stage by placing them in darkness or will they flower on their own time?
Right now I'm growing herms. Not my choice, seeds out of really shitty weed that managed to grow. At least I'll be getting feminized seeds but for the next gen, would anything have to be done to ensure "proper" harvesting?

you have to extend the daylight during veging by bring them inside under lights to grow a larger plant before leaving them outside permanently for flowering.
to OP---18/6 for veg-12/12 for flower and there are plenty of harvesting guides for you on this forum s well

Hmm, growing seeds from shitty weed....you might just get some more shitty weed. The only time I grew seeds from a hermie I got almost all hermies, very very frustrating. Hope that was just my bad luck but I think herms are more likely to produce them. Would love some other experiences on this....any Gurus reading??

I understand no weed is shitty if dried and cured correctly. Fresh and cultivated properly.

Btw, If there is no possibility of additional light to make for the 18/6 cycle, would a continuous 12/12 cycle from it's commencement flower it quickly?

so your growing outdoors? you dont need lights now.. just get them on a window ledge for a couple of weeks before they go outside,..sure you can go 12/12 from day one, but it will take an 8 week strain a good 11 weeks to finish... they will have to grow to maturity before they flower. if its a good strain you can still get an ounce by growing 12/12 from seed.

If it's accustomed to 12/12 cycling, would it flower quicker when induced in 6/18 - more darkness?
I have a plant which started in 11/3 and its been 13 weeks, closer to 14. Would it be effective?
I don't know the state of this plant, albeit I am deducing that has indeed been pollinated as all leaves are withering, no bud is to be seen and the seeds are decisively becoming riper each day.

ya that plant looks pretty sad... are all the leaves gone from drying up and falling off? or are you pruning them off? id scrap the plant harvest as much seeds as possible and plant all the seeds you get and from what sprouts hopefully you will get a good plant out of em...

They all dried up and fell off, some of them are still falling off.
Couple of questions:
It's week 14 from tomorrow and the seeds are turning brown, in a cycle quite similar to the pic attached - no. 8 & 9. Do I wait several more weeks for all seeds to become ripened (turn brown) and then "plant harvest"?
What will happen to the plant as soon as all the leaves caducous and lays bare?

that looks terrible, you say its a hermie? your wasting time, that plant is in very rough shape. you say no buds are to be seen yet its growing seeds? thats not possible really. seeds are female pistils that have been pollinated. the leaves falling off has nothing to do with pollination btw. you may get lucky if you try to grow seeds from it, but most likely it will be crap. it would be a huge waste of time to even try. Get some new seeds.

lol, what is going on there. I thought my plant was in bad shape. Sorry I smoked and that thing is crazy looking!!! I don't know why you think you will get feminized seeds? I've heard mixed things about hermie seeds. I wonder what the truth is.

I'm no expert, but I'd guess that your soil (from the looks of it) may be the culprit.... along with a hermie to begin with, bad news. Yes you can have shitty weed even if it is cured correctly. All the curing in the world won't turn ragweed into fire, fire comes from good genetics, and good care and a little luck for some of us...... I agree with darkdestruction; smoke some to prove its no good, then get some rock 'n roll seeds [slang] and grow them to the best of your ability.

Good luck,

No. I have hermes but this is a female. I have been getting lucky with seeds growing so I have to go that way.
Buying high quality seeds and use of organic fertilizer is beyond my reach. All I can do is give it water and let it grow.
So why is it shedding all of its leaves?
The seeds turning brown indicates it is indeed pollinated? If so, how to harvest them?

This plant is a female and it started growing in the winter. It reached upwards of 2 ft and is on its 14th week.
If it was indeed the soil, wouldn't it have started showing symptoms sooner?

It's not about taking one weed & developing into another. Each have idiosyncratic qualities, ones more potent than others.
Transforming, attempting a metamorphize is not possible.
Properly drying it; in my climate it would dry in a day if directly exposed to the sun, the necessity for heat.
Adjusting it - controlling when to harvest, taking care to prevent more CBN degradation from occurring.
Such factors help inhibit a calmer high when smoked or incept.

you can use seeds from bags and get good plants, i do lots of experiment plants and have found some real diamonds in the rough from some of the shittiest bud you ever did see. hermie's are plants that are not genetically stable, if youve got plants growing balls and making seeds its not focusing on the buds and therefore you could do alot better. why did the leaves die? probably inadaquete care, no offense but it doesnt sound like youve quite mastered the art of growing yet. Keep trying my friend but dont get so into a grow you throw up blinders to the fact its no longer worth the effort and its time to start over.

The soil looks to me like it has no drainage and seems to be growing algae on the surface, that would be strange for an outdoor grow. You can kill a plant with poor drainage quickly by overwatering it.

Just a guess - good luck,

There is drainage, the algae dries out within a few hours of direct exposure to the sun - it comes on and off, its gone currently.
I'm not too into it but am curious to know exactly why this is occurring.
It grew well, height-wise, and shed its fan leaves to form those shapes currently seen.
I have other plants - hermies, males and females and others that have erupted from the soil just a few days prior.
I spent some time on this particular plant and don't quite understand why it is acting that way it is.
