little maggots on my seedlings?

ok. not growing mj but i have some sprouted seedlings. there are a few gnats that get in but i was uncovering some dirt on the non sprouted ones and i saw a few maggot looking things and some little things crawling around like they had legs. one maggot like/other bug w/o wings like. but i had a little nasty looking seed that had barely had a root sticking out of it and it was detached with bugs/maggots crawling on it. so basically that one is dead. will these things ruin my plants root systems? or kill the remaining ones that havent germinated? i cant stand it, it makes me want to throw the shit out of my window the fucking bugs lol.

i just added good bugs to it and i doubt that those are them lol. will these bad bugs eat my good bugs?

i might go and get some pest shit ina few days. i dont want to look in my soil and see this.

i looked them up and im pretty sure its the basic household gnat that you get in most places of america. the ones that always get in the dirt of house plants/or kitchen if you dont use screens in your windows. i looked up the stages of there growth and what i saw was two stages of gnat before they get wings. will these things eat up my seedlings roots?

i need product or defense ideas lol im going to the hydro store tomorrow.

i put some roots oraganic in today. i dont think the microscopic bugs grew that fast lol. could be wrong i guess. iv seen dead gnats in the soil though so i assume they reproduced.

just fill a jar with vinegar and set it by where they frequent this should subside your problem if they are in fact gnats

done. i put the bottle in there with the lid open. im going to grow some garlic with them to i guess. idk i read it repels them i might just break some up and out it in there until tomorrow. i hope that i ahve no other casualties by the time those fuckers get there wings. i have one that looks a little wilted but its in MG and i accidentally hit the whole sprout with the water today and left the light on so that could be its problem.(im only using MG on a few seeds just to experiment a little)

the gnats are attracted to the smell of vinegar so cover it with plastic wrap and poke holes so they can enter but not escape, you want them with wings so they can get themselves trapped.. not quite certain in regards to the garlic but good luck and happy growing

fungus gnats, NASTY little suckers. To get rid of them, put a potatoe slice or two on top of the soil to draw them up & hopefully most of them out. Leave for about 12 hours, then dump the potatoe. Follow up with a 10% solution to water using regular household peroxide. Then let the soil dry up as much as you can before watering again. Try to get the fliers out, by any means u can as not to re-infest your soil. BTW r u using MG by chance? I was at the time I had them, brought all the remaining unused soil back to the store for a refund. I guess MG soil is known for gnats; learned that lesson will never buy it again. PS: after my soil was dry I did add cinnamon to top of soil, also to attempt to repel house ants I also had at that time.

yea ctually i think they are only in the MG soil and not in the happy frog..if thats the case il ahve to search the soil and say fuck the experiment with MG lol.

u can keep going, just do what I said & that should remedy the soil & u can move on. But to answer ur earlier question, yes the larvae do eat the root system.
