Once again, it’s been too long since I posted an update with pics. So while I was in the flowering chamber last night I made sure to snap off a few pics to put images to some of the madness I’ve been dealing with, and consequently causing, in my garden. Attention Newbie’s! Pay close attention to this update, as you can hopefully learn what NOT to do to your girls once they are flowering.

I mentioned in passing the other day that one of the main stalks of the larger girl bent all the way over and fell due to a combination of the weight of the buds forming and moving the reservoir under the 400W HPS. (I may want to look into naming/ numbering them, this is getting confusing even to me….) This resulted in me having to take emergency action to attach a splint to help support the plant in an upright position. I used a 3inch eye bolt tied on with string because it was all that I could find at the time, and it worked about as good as you would expect….. not really. So I attached an larger piece of plastic rod to the stalk and it’s working much better now.
Not the best looking job, But it held it’s own so far.
Fast forward 2 nights. It’s a Thursday and TJP is in the garden, sitting back enjoying a few really nice bong rips of some sample buds from the most recent harvest

when all of a sudden I knew exactly what I needed to do to fix these damn plants so that they would stand up on their own and not delay or degrade the harvest any more. 3 Hours later, this is what my flowering chamber looks like…..
Before we go any further, I would like to remind anyone who may be looking in that
THIS IS NOT A SCROG GARDEN. This is the result of tinkering in your garden while you are high…….. Let’s learn that lesson.
Now, I will say 2 things at this point. #1- The recent harvest is some pretty potent stuff, but I’ll get into a harvest wrap-up/ smoke repot in a separate post. #2 – This was a TERRIBLE idea! I’m not really sure how the hell I got that netting thing into place without tearing off every single bud on the plant. I theory, they needed something to support them and I was tired of tying 15+ strings to the buds to hold them up. So if they grew up through the net then they would be fine, but installing the net like this was just insane. DON’T EVER DO THIS.
I woke the next morning and fixed a few things and hoped for the best. I’m proud to report they have both made a 90% recovery and are looking stronger.
The lower buds are not receiving as much light now as they used to due to the type of netting I used. I’ve thrown a 68Watt CFL down under the net to help supplement additional light. We’re just gonna have to cross our fingers and hope for the best on this one.
Another emergency splint job done after it snapped while I was installing the net.
And a shot of the top of that same branch as the previous pic. I think she's gonna be ok.
And, of course I got some root porn for ya!!!!
Here’s a few shots of the next girls to be moved into the flowering chamber. I let them veg a little longer than usual in the starter DWC tubs because I had to wait for the others to finish to make room for them. Because of this, their roots grew together much more than usual and they refused to come apart. My only option was to cut some of them and try to remove as much damaged root mass as possible. Of course some was missed and started to rot. 8ml/gal 17% H202 cleared it up pretty well and they are starting to show very little new growth, but there is growth none the less.
And last, but not least, a few shots of the next generation of clones still in the bubble cloner. They are at 6 days right now and I believe I’m seeing new root nubs on the one on the right. I tried to get a shot, but my camera sucks.
So hopefully there was a lesson to be learned in this post. Don’t get too stoned and bored while you’re in your garden, especially when you are having problems already. At least things seem to be getting back under control over here. So, lay it on me. It was stupid to try anything at 6 weeks into flowering, but at least it’s a 9-11 weeks strain, so she has a little more time to heal up. Maybe she’ll even push out a little more resin from the stress so far into flower. What do you guys think?
