Think about it like this, if they go to search you out online, its already too late. I'd be more worried about that kind of stealth off of the internet, the smell, the equipment, all of that will be quite the task to manage.

If you are that worried, find out about proxy servers.

haha, thanks, guys, i think i'll be fine, but i guess i'll know in a few months. thinking about the journal, but a little scared to post that stuff. we'll see.

Its also amazing how quickly fear of publishing turns into pride for your labors. If anything, take a pic of an empty room of LED light with all of them on, just so we can see what 2.5KW of LED output looks like. Shit you can go tanning in the mean time with the lights. LOL.

Actually on second thought. Put up all the lights, get a bunch of women to tan in there, and then take the pics. Much better.

Yes, proxy servers, and torrent something like "real hide ip"--- gives you a foreign IP :) For smell of course carbon filters, ozone, and I hear great things about gonzo odor bags, but I think the ones I got had already soaked up smells from the store so they need to be rejuvenated in the sun, which doesn't come around here much for a few more months :( I have one of these:http://aliveairpurifier.com/ but not from the guys running this site, this is just one of the several companies who branded it as their own, added 50% to the price and a 5-year warranty. Mine is surround air intellipro, was $200. I think it should keep mold down, and has carbon and some ozone output i think so it will keep strong smells locked up if its in a confined area, but that's not its strong point.

proxy servers = who knows if it's a honeypot or not, same with tor nodes, same with "real hide ip" and any other hide your identity service provider, make sure your metadata isn't giving you away either, if you're paranoid there may be very good reason to be so, i would love to see that much led lighting as well though, a new record i think not, but still impressive

I use hide IP platinum.... does it really work? when i go to certain sites they always seem to know what area i'm in. I'm not sure it works..... does anybody know a way to test it?

sorry, i know this isn't an LED question.... but i've followed this thread since the very begining and have read a ton of garbage remarks totally unrelated, so whats one more!

They draw 169w each, or close to it, I forget.

Shoot hydroponics hut and email and they will probably help give you a price break. They worked with me when I purchased 4. Maybe add that cereal referred you and that might help.

Hey, thanks for the info Cereall. Those ProGrows look pretty good on the website. I got a couple more questions for you.
1) I noticed on the website that you can turn half the lights on for vegging. Do you turn them all on for flowering or just the flowering half.
2)Have you done a full grow with them? how did it turn out.

Thanks again bro

So he responded saying he was sorry but he had a heck of a day today probalby getting all your 18 units shipped to you lol. You definitely have to take a picture of all them lights on man!!! jesus that will be a show!!
18 blackstar 240s. victor was a pleasure to deal with at gotham. however, i am not rich, and this was a very major purchase, so i feel like i'm going to throw up. encouraging statements would be appreciated.

I used hide ip platinum a few years back and it worked well. I've tried it again since and was displeased :( . In the past I would retry until I got an IP either not in the states or china (since their gov't blocks a lot) but it is mainly for extra security. Real Hide IP, and some others (maybe HIPP does it now too) let you pick which country you want an address from, which can be nice for sporting events and such that may be unavailable to view outside a region, or like how some sites are either blocked or provide limited functionality for USA users because of legal concerns. As hudson pointed out, those measures are next to nothing for high level tech spies to whittle down. MAC address cloning and using public wifi is another option.

hey, surge, honestly, i diddn't get much of a deal. he said the 240s were selling so well that he couldn't give me much of a deal. i suppose i could have done better if i had pushed a little bit, but unless i'm buying a car or something, it's not my style. and anyway, if the product works well, i'll be more than satisfied. i'm planning to have 16 in an 11 by 11 room, then two in a closet for mothers.

so you are only going with 1 room now instead of both?

good idea

i myself am doing an LED vs 600w HPS in 2 different rooms and same strains, will help me decide if i should totally ditch the HPS or a mixture of both... didnt want to commit big time just to be let down...

actually this is a great idea, ive only seen comparisons to metal halide. I would love to see how it holds up against a HPS. what type of led/hps are you using?

LEDS....
Hydroponics Hut 260w (4)

HPS....
Magnum XXL hood
Hortilux "EYE" bulb
Digital Ballast
Air cooled

Certainly the Magnum hood covers the area i would need 3 leds for but i have 4 600w hps in a 10x10 room and the leds will be in 5x5 tent so they are isolated and independent

yikes, you must have spent a small fortune. Dude i would not buy that much unless he was willing to work a deal. You must have a lot of money, what if the product doesnt work well? you should have atleast experimented, thats kind of a huge buy for the cheapest light out there. but they could perform well. who knows. I bought a 180w ufo cree white and blue blacklight for veg. i dont really trust them for blooms till someone does a solo light grow with just 1. then ill shell and shill. good luck though, journal the shit out of this one. for all of us. good luck.

I tried this and used two different growing spaces. The problem I had with with the temperature. The LED grow room was at 61-64 degrees, and the HID grow room was at 80. Needless to say the LED was lagging behind quite a bit as the plants metabolism was much slower. I just mixed them both together in the end. I was contemplating buying a heater but they used like 1500W, so I just tossed the LED and the HID together. I love the results...
