This post is going to cause me a lot of flack, but here it goes.....
I'm such a snob I don't like to smoke indoor grown weed.
I've always lived in areas where outdoor growing dominates and the local weed is cheap. I can pick up a big ounce of local county pot full of plump, heavy 5-6 inch buds for 160 bucks. It smells like fresh mowed hay and cat piss, but who cares? It's normally some old local strain acclimated to the region over decades. It knocks that Dutch and Cali weed in the creek.
Indoor weed is missing something in the high,IMO. It lacks complexity and doesn't have a bottom to it like good outdoor weed does.
I've never been a fan of the outdoor weed from NorCal to BC either, again it lacks a bottom to the high,ie; the peak of the high is too short, especially for the prices they want. I don't think the sun is intense enough at those latitudes to produce good weed w/o constant additions to the gene pool?
Give me a local strain from the Southeast US anytime. Long, strong highs from acclimatized old Colombian,Mexican,Jamaican and SE Asian genetics that those folks have been growing for 40 plus years.
I'm going to have to move to indoor growing due to circumstances, but I'm not looking forward to it. It strikes me as small yeilds for too much work.
