growing for dummies tips

ive posted before but never really got much of a reply so going to re word it. I'm growing for the first time properly. I grew once using nothing but a bucket + water and natural sun light but the outcome wasnt great. So I'm going to try growing properly, but dont have much space and dont really want dozens of lights, really looking for a good way to grow in a low kay way, For example one light one pot etc. can anyway help me at all, keeping in mind this is my first proper grow so please be patient with me...
thanks for the help.

thanks im searching now, would tin foil be an appropiate relfector or do i need a proper one and what the hell is ballast light? i was thinking of getting a 400 watt light but they seem to come as either just a bulb or a proper kit which is a bit pricey..

Tin foil will get the job done but there are better alternatives if you have the money for it. The ballast is what gives the HID light bulbs their power. The bulbs are a bit pricey and typically have to be replaced every 6 months or so, the ballast is a 1 time purchase. Personally I just got into growing and was also looking for something small. I got a 2'x2'x63" tent and a 180w LED ufo light with 4 1'x1' pots to grow in. LEDs don't put off as much heat so you don't have to spend as much time and money on cooling the grow area, they also last much longer and require less power to operate. I spent around $100 for the tent and around $200 for the light.

Hope this helps.

if you wanted a 1 plant grow low key then choose CFL.

Charlies Hydro on ebay is good

if you're planning on a complete kit using 400w HPS then this kit is reasonably priced

Other than this start reading the sticky's at the top of newbie central so that you at least have a clue what its going to take to grow.
