IS MY HOME CONSIDERED A "LOCKED facility"? HELP

Well the fire department and police just left my house, The police did not even seem to care about the fact that there are plants growing in my home.

Now to further ensure that I am not in any violation can anyone clear this up for me?

Is my home a "locked facility" or do I need to put locks on the doors to my grow rooms. I'm in Michigan.?.?.

Thanks for any help:wall:

Did the cops actually SEE the plants? If they did, and it is Illegal to grow in your state, I would get rid of them or relocate them immediately. Or move. Cause its really not worth going to prison for.

I have one plant in a flowering room and three in a cloning/veg room. I have locks on the doors to those rooms.
The law in MI says you can grow up to 12 personal plants at a time. Just wondering if anyone knew what the hell this whole "locked facility" means. I mean isn't a locked home a secure growing/facility?

No the cops didn't even ask to come in??? they asked how many I had going and was honest with them, 4. So they did not bother to come in. Yes it is legal to grow in Michigan, IF you are a patient or caregiver

As long as you're a card holder I dont see the issue. So did they see your plants since they are in a separate room or what, just smelled them? Go to google and type in MMMA and the first link is michigans info website, I'm sure you can find details there

I read the laws real quick and did not see anything about the locked facility. It did state that there can be NO GLARE coming from windows, so some "Good neighbor" whom I'm sure has seen the glare coming from the window for days and days now, called the fire dept. they came pounding at the door with their hoses out and quickly ran upstairs. I showed them and about 10 minutes later the police came to the door.
So I just put up some dark contact paper on the window I had sitting around.

Problem is Mr.Green, I'm not the card holder, my wife is. The police did not bother coming in. Actually that was my first "contact" with the local police dept. Goos one I suppose, but now I'm sure that there will always be a F**KING eye on my house!

Interesting. Yea coveing windows is a must do. A lot of ppl aren't even informed about mma or still just dont like it and will call the cops on you

I had them covered well till I added the HPS and it gets way too hot in there for the proper temps and humidity, so opening the window to let the cold air in helped regulate it. Guess I'll put in a damn air conditioner along with all the fans I have going. Bet the electric bill is going to be more than what I may yield is even worth for my wife.

I would think as long as your doors lock that it would be considered a locked facility. Also, it is probably in your best interest to follow the guidelines, they are there to protect you and the public. If you neighbour seen the glare there is a good chance that lots of people have seen the glare and know what you are up to. Being legal does not stop someone from breaking into your house and robbing your shit. If I was legal I would still operate the same way I do now, in secrecy. Good Luck!

I have to keep the window open it gets way too hot in my flowering room. I don't at the moment have the resources to purchase anything to cool it down other than mother nature. If anyone would have the balls to try to come in, well lets say I have many security options ready.

build a simple light trap and mount it over the window. then you can vent through that with out light leaks. be sure to get a carbon filter or you'll have more trouble once those babies are in full bloom. in cali your room would definitely be considered secure.

Called an attorney, He told me that as long as she only has access to the rooms (All rooms have to be locked and she has to possess the keys) As long as that is upheld all other people dwelling at the home are safe for criminal prosecution.

What is a simple light trap if you don't mind me asking?

The law implicates you need to have a lock on the door of the room/s, keeping your home locked all the time isn't the same. I'm in Michigan as well and pay a lottttttttt for my lawyers.

Got cha Bud, Hope you have best of luck with the future and don't have to dump anymore $$ into lawyers!

it could be as simple as a piece of cardboard painted black then staples to the wall. but generally it is a box with two 180* turns inside. the inside of the box is painted black to dampen the light, the turns allow air to pass through but not light.

Awesome. So a little wood and some screws will go along way.
Thank you!
